The welcome and communication with the family who run the hotel was really excellent. it’s rare nowadays to receive such personal attention. Fantastic! Our room was sparkling clean as was the whole hotel. Breakfast wonderful and all home cooked. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Diakofti beach where the swimming is absolutely superb. Turquoise waters as far as you can swim - probably the best (though not the most picturesque) beach that we had during our whole stay in the Peloponnese. The hotel is literally five minutes drive from the ferry. We would not hesitate to recommend… and to come back.

The property was very well located, right by the sea. The room is spotless, bed was good and the view amazing. The owner, lady Maria is such a warm and well coming person. She helped us in all directions: food, beaches etc. It is a blessed place to stay. Even if one day I was sick and I couldn’t leave the room, the quietness of the place and the vicinity of the sea helped me to recover quickly. Also Maria offered to help me with what I’ve needed. Thank you Maria from Kythera Beach Apartments! I’ll definitely come back!

We had an amazing stay at Diakofti, very near the port and both good location and restaurant and beaches nearby. Hospitality was very warm and the breakfast, which was included was very good. Perfect location for those who don't mind driving to the center and back, always a nice enjoyable ride. Will visit again just because everything was fine and the staff very friendly.

The property was located at a short walk from the port and the beach of Diakofti. It was very clean, with a little kitchenette which had pans, a nespresso and a fridge. The mini market was close, so you could pop in and buy whatever you needed for your cooking but we opted for bringing some stuff with us before hand. Delicious breakfast was provided, with freshly made eggs and delicious homemade jams by the owner. He is a pastry chef so everything he made and offered us (cake, cheesecake, jams) were extremely tasty! The owners were very accommodating. They provided us with all the info we needed and respected our privacy. They are very friendly and kind people. They wanted to make sure we had everything we needed without them being intrusive. The property is at a quiet place. You can relax at their garden or walk to the Diakofti beach and spend your time there. There is also a small tavern near by. There are two or three hiking paths near by that you could follow if you don’t want to get a car or you don’t want to spend the whole time inside/at the beach.

    We were glad to have 5 days to sink into Kythera.

    We were glad to have 5 days to sink into Kythera. You need a car to really experience this amazing island. There is only one restaurant and one cafe in Dhiakofti, but they are both enjoyable places to eat. No night life, no souvenir stores, no shopping. A quiet, family-friendly beach town.

    It's a very quiet, sleepy village.

    It's a very quiet, sleepy village. There is only one taverna, with so-so food, but with tables on the beach, so that can be nice. It's a great place for kids and families. But for good coffee, bars, restaurants, good beaches, you need to drive somewhere else, like Avlemonas. There is nothing in Diakofti.

    From October to March this little hamlet rather than village...

    From October to March this little hamlet rather than village shuts down; no bars or restaurants are open. The little shop or mini market is open randomly. If you are coming here in the off season, have a car so you can get to the next town or if you don’t bring water, milk, alcohol or food so you’re all set. During the summer I’m sure it’s a paradise; we just went on last regular ferry of the year. It’s quiet, beautiful at night and has gorgeous clear water. If you wanna go somewhere and just chill, I recommend.

    Dhiakofti is great if you want to have a great beach at...

    Dhiakofti is great if you want to have a great beach at walking distance but it's far from Chora or anything else you might want to see - except for Avlemonas which is my favourite place on the island. There are a couple of taverns there but we didn't sit there so can't really recommend them.

    Diakofri is the port of the island of Kythera.

    Diakofri is the port of the island of Kythera. It’s a place away from Chora, main town of Kythera. It is place for relaxation with limited options for food, bars etc. Nevertheless it is close to Avlemonas which is a very beautiful and more lively place.

    Diakofti is clean, sandy beach with warm turquoise blue water. Even if it's windy and the waves are high at other beaches, you can always swim at Diakofti. There is a cafe on the beach that serves excellent meals. One of the best tavernas in Kythira is also located there. We recommend it for dinner.

    This is an apartment complex rather than a hotel or BnB so there’s no breakfast. It’s a good 20 minute walk to the property from the port if you don’t have a car, which is fine. It’s very clean. Hot showers. Air conditioning in every room. Wifi. Balconies. It’s a very nice place.
