My evaluation is strongly influenced by the period when we visited the island – August. Therefore, I do not recommend visiting the island in August, as it is extremely overcrowded. Also, the steep streets and narrow access alleys become even more difficult to navigate during this time of year, and you will need to fully rely on your driving skills, often pushing your car to its limits. We missed some of the island’s attractions because of these inconveniences. That being said, the island has many beautiful places to see and experience – beaches, breathtaking views, tavernas, welcoming people, and much more. I recommend visiting the island in September, ideally for 5–10 days, and exploring the most popular places early in the morning. We stayed for a week in Corfu town.
We stayed for a week in Corfu town. Great base for seeing the island. We took a trip to sarande , another trip to Paxos/anti paxos , hired a car and went to 2 beaches in the west of the island. The old town is fantastic but once the cruise ships come in it impossible to move around or see anything in peace. There are too many people allowed to visit. They should limit numbers to preserve the city, avoid traffic hick ups and allow locals to live their lives. I would not come in June, July or August again.Guest review byLanceAustralia - 10.0

Everything was clean and bright and the town was much more sophisticated than I imagined. It was pretty busy, especially in the evening but there were lots of shops, bars, cafes and reataurants. We went mid July so we probably missed the busiest time but we had am excellent visit for two days. We visited both forts and the excellentent museum of Asian art.
