I arrived late but the staff went out of their way to accommodate me. Room was extremely comfortable, with a sea view over the Bay. Pre-arranged car parking was available. They have a nice breakfast included, and a pub atmosphere bar, Everything in one package, in a beautifully refurbished old building. True Yorkshire hospitality.

Set right on the harbours edge, this cute little cottage style accommodation is a great place to stay in. In the heart of Whitby and at the foot of the 199 steps that lead to the Abbey, you cannot fault the location. The room looks out to the harbour & over towards the Captain Cook statue on top of the adjacent hillside. At night the sound of the water is very therapeutic & the lights across the way are stunning as they reflect in the water. The host was very pleasant & helpful. I would definitely recommend this place for a great stay in the charming town of Whitby.

    Such a beautiful seaside town!

Such a beautiful seaside town! We are already planning to go back next summer (we will definitely stay in different accommodations!!) The beaches are gorgeous and sandy (not a stone in sight!) and there is so much to see and do in town. It was very busy when we went (last weekend in August) due to the Pirate Festival! Was great to see though - very impressive costumes!

Whitby can be quite hilly, so if you cannot climb stairs or hills, or even walk on cobbled streets, it is not for you. On the other hand the old town is a must to see with lovely individual shops and tea rooms, pubs and curiosities. The Abbey is a must and worth the climb. Also up there is brewery where you can buy the produce. There is also a cliff top walk in this area. Plenty of fish and chip shops, we dined in Trenchers near the bus station and Hadleys in the Old town. If you require gluten free, dietary requirements can be met at these establishments. Ghosts walks are available as are boat trips taking you out for a bout 20 minutes. There is also a Wetherspoons (The Angel) which is very popular for meals and drinks.

There is just something about Whitby that keeps pulling us back. Fabulous place although the hills are a bit much for me now. Amazing little backstreets always something new to do. Great walks for those who have dogs. Such a dog friendly place. We just love Whitby, go at least 2 times a year. Abbey Wharf a great place to eat.

Whitby is a lovely place to visit, plenty to do if you want to. Roads into the town are very steep,it's ok going down into town but going back up Could cause an issue for anyone with mobility issues. Recomend using one of the many local taxis to get you back to your hotel, they are very reasonably priced.

I booked for 2 nights for a solo birthday treat at this hotel based in a pub and was so impressed! My room was up a very unprepossesing flight of narrow stairs those with mobility problems may have a problem) and let myself into an absolute surprise of room! Well decorated, well presented, absolutely comfortable, and sparkling clean. Fabulous views over Whitby harbour. I booked bed and breakfast with my room, and each morning, I had an amazing, freshly cooked breakfast.
