Excellent service, good breakfast included, room with a view and a little separate sitting room via a small hall - a lovely surprise! Andrew went above and beyond looking after every little detail and was always available to help in any way - a pleasure to deal with!

We had an upgrade with Genius on Booking.com so stayed in the King size with sea view for the price of a standard double. This was midweek in December. The room was enormous with a superb view. Warm and cosy on a cold winter night. Good WiFi. Clean. Only a few rooms were occupied. Breakfast was cereals, juice, then freshly cooked Full English. All good. We often visit family in Weston and I definitely think we will go back to the York. Apart from the fantastic room upgrade, it was clean, warm, friendly staff, great breakfast.

Enjoyed a meal at Pierre Bistro, lovely views from the restaurant. The pier is great for families, as lots going on. We had coffee at the Tropicana restaurant before hopping on the free pier train back to the entrance. As my Mum can't walk too far, this was a welcome bonus. Played mini golf near the shopping centre. This is looking very tired and could do with a fresh coat of paint. Also, it would have been lovely if there had been some seating around the edges of the course for people with limited mobility to rest in-between holes. The Sovereign centre parking gets very busy but the prices are reasonable and it is very central.

Sand Bay isn’t really in Weston it is a much quieter area approx 3 miles from WSM. It’s really peaceful and a much slower pace than the hustle and bustle of the town. There is a nice walkway and the sand dunes are beautiful 😊there is a nice village shop, two cafes, a fish and chip shop and of course The South Sands Hotel where we stayed. There is also a pub but it is closed at the moment for a refurb.

We have been going to weston for many years, it has lost some of it's charm from years ago. There used to be lovely coloured lights all along the promenade and the pier was the place to go in the evening with the family. Sadly they now close early and charge too much for family to go on there. It is sad to see so many places closed and some of the hotels on the front need to be painted and updated. Other parts have improved especially the marine lake which has been cleaned up and is perfect for young families. We hope that they will continue to make improvements to draw back families for many years to come.

An old resort with 'interestingly faded' atmosphere.

An old resort with 'interestingly faded' atmosphere. 'What's on' boards absolutely empty in late July, that kind of thing. Walk out to the remains of Birkbeck Pier - unfortunately all fenced off and still derelict (you can help remedy that!), but still an interesting destination foir a stroll. Similarly the old Tropicana on the beach. Very nice Wetherspoons for the beginning and end of the day. Good value hotels of a high standard. Top tip - if you think you might need to go to the toilet, make sure you have plenty of 20p and 10p pieces with you: waving your bank card will be no use at all.

I visit here frequently, always find the people very friendly and enoy the nightlife. I take the X1 bus from Bristol to the Town centre, cheap fare lovely views. Its a short walk to the shops and beach.I book different accommodation depending what I can afford. Smiths on Knightstone Road proved an excellent choice. So much choice for takeaway or eat in and many venues offering live events.

The hotel is in a great location for the town and for the seafront - couldn't be nearer to either of them. The staff were superb - the lady on Reception when I arrived was extremely helpful in suggesting alternative places to park as the car park was full, and the staff we met at breakfast were also very friendly, polite and professional. The breakfast itself was very good. The hotel has an interesting history which is worth looking up.

Great location. Step back in time to Victorian era I imagine and that was expected for a different experience. Chair lift up the entrance steps to hotel if needed (we didnt, but thoughtful). Shower worked well but not much hot water. Central location on the Seafront, near to pier. Bar lady was very helpful and on asking gave us directions to the local restuarants.

Beautiful spacious and clean room. Comfortable bed and lovely, big bathroom with corner bath and overhead shower. The fresh cooked to order breakfast was lovely with quality ingredients. The hosts were helpful and informative. The hotel was in a good location close to the seafront and local attractions and amenities but far enough away so was quiet in the evening.
