I loved everything, the location by the seafront. The balcony where you can sit and watch the sea, have a meal and a drink enjoying the view. The receptionist was attentive, let me check in early and showed me to the room. I loved the fridge in the room. The fan did the job too. Newly refurbished hotel.

We had a great time - Room was bigger than expected. The small balcony was great. Perfect location with easy access to shops and restaurants. Walking distance from Adventure Island and the pier. Breakfast selection was great, freshly cooked and tasty. There is also a water cooler available, where you can refill your water bottles free of charge.

Southend is no longer a great place to stay - sure you can visit the Arcades, go on the rides, have a drink but it generally is overcrowded by both visitors and overpopulated residents. No different to other seaside places I am sure. Traffic is awful getting there with roadworks everywhere you look - The A127 is awful, the A13 through Westcliff and Chalkwell is scruffy and the shopping is bog standard chains, even the Royals has gone downhill since the demise of Debenhams. Shame really - Known Southend all my life - Better in the 70's and Eighties. The council has a lot to answer for! Too many new residents on the whole.

Am biased as had honeymoon at Southend and visit often, it has the right balance for us to celebrate our anniversary in the peace an quiet of where Pebbles is located but just a half hour walk to the bustle of the pier and activities.

    The hotel was a disaster!

The hotel was a disaster! Really filthy , ac’s not working , refugees all over the hotel , horrible staff no hygiene at all . They had to wake us up before our flight back to Malta at 3.15 am and they forgot they called us late . A big shock when we arrived at our room, it’s in a horrible state.

I have been coming here for 40 years and still love it.

I have been coming here for 40 years and still love it. Although so much has changed & sad to see older places gone, it was clean, plenty of bins & felt safe with the Marshalls & Security walking about. Everyone is so friendly & kind. Great for families, friends, couples etc. So much to do & at affordable prices. Plenty of fun games in the arcades for kids & adults of all ages. Great atmosphere all around!!

Southend-on-Sea has a lot to offer visitors.

Southend-on-Sea has a lot to offer visitors. Plenty of great pubs, restaurants and entertainment. The long stretch of beach is lovely to walk along and Southend Pier is a fantastic piece of history and a great walk for those that want to or there is a train that takes you along the pier. Billy Hundreds seafood restaurant was very lovely on the beach, Olivers on the Beach, the Casino, the pubs along the shoreline are all great places to eat and visit. It is very easy to get around Southend-on-Sea and a fun walk along the parade. Cliffs Pavillion has great food coffee and live stage shows.

Brilliant location for kids - giant soft play, long pier, play areas on beach, excellent funfair (especially for children above 120cm) with kids rollercoasters and lots of variety. The town is great, lots of diverse places to eat, and a bit like a compact Brighton with less walking to do. The arcades are so much fun - use the grabber machines in Funtopia as they charge only 20p per turn. The beach isn’t beautiful or sandy but it’s perfectly fine for playing frisbee or for watching the sunset. It was so easy to get to from London by train, and the seafront (and our hotel) were less than a 10 minute walk.

Lovely property on the seafront. Just on the main road but was very quiet and peaceful. My room was on the front too and I had no issue with noise from traffic. You walk across the road and the beach is there. The room was cosy and so comfortable. Emma was very helpful and welcoming and the breakfast in the morning was delicious! I will definitely stay here again when I return to Southend.

Wonderful hotel centrally situated but with beautiful views over the seafront and pier. Welcoming friendly staff, delicious breakfasts and spotless room with everything I needed plus a very comfortable bed. I often find hotel rooms overly heated and no way of adjusting but the heating here was adjustable by guests. Excellent and highly recommended
