Nigel was very welcoming and gave us a lot of helpful inside tips on navigating the way to the NEC for our conference. We saved a lot of money on parking because the Tri-star is right next to the bus-stop which takes 2 stops to get to the NEC for the conference. The bus also takes VISA which makes it super-easy to go to the convention centre and back to Tri-Star. They provide a full English breakfast, toast or eggs done in different ways as part of our stay and the beds were very comfortable. They had a nice pool table (which we didn't use unfortunately) and there were plenty of places to sit to lounge around and dining areas for guest. They also had a nice little bar but we were a bit too caught up to use it!

The location for the NEC couldn't have been closer and then of course the Airport and Train Station. When entering the hotel it a little strange to find the check in by the bar, but on reflection it worked well. The general feel of the hotel was upbeat and the staff were helpful. We liked the décor very much, funky and fun. The seating was comfortable and although the hotel was always busy during our 3 night stay we always found somewhere to sit and eat or drink. The evening meals were very pleasant, not a big choice but varied enough. Breakfast was fab. Lots of choices, cereals, fruit, cheeses, bread, croissants, cooked and much, much more. The room 401, was just big enough and beautifully decorated, again funky, but only really suitable for a few days stay, however, I know they have bigger rooms if you need to unpack your bags. It was more expensive than we would normally book, we are more Premier Inn people! But we loved our stay at the Moxy and thoroughly recommend it.

The village is just a short walk from the guesthouse.

The village is just a short walk from the guesthouse. The village is interesting with a large village pond, village green with a monument to cyclists, two grocery stores, a chemist and two really good pubs that do food. Lots of footpaths and the odd thatched cottage are in the neighbourhood. It's about 9 miles from the NEC. The bus service seems to be good too. We had an excellent evening meal at the Strawberry gardens. I suggest booking a table in advance though, they were very good and fitted us in on a very busy Friday night. It was a later dinner than we'd hoped but it was good quality food and service.

Reception staff were good. The buffet breakfast was good. The kettle i the room was dirty inside so I passed on tea and coffee. The room was cold there was a heater but I couldn't get it to work. Dinner was nice but it took an hour and a half to get a burger.

The best thing about this hotel was the quality of the food.

The best thing about this hotel was the quality of the food. The menu and specials were the same for both evenings but there was plenty of choice. The restaurant was full on the Friday night and service team were great. I would definately dine there if I was a local. The one negative for me was although the stylised subdued lighting was perfect for an evening in the pub and maybe setting off to bed, there was insufficient light to get ready to go out. Room 12s window overlooked the courtyard shared by the restaurant so the blind could not be fully pulled up either. The food was so nice though!!

Nice location close to the NEC but no lift for heavy suitcases, poor expensive evening meal from Marco franchise unless you like burger and lots of fancy chips, no fridge and other issues with room 101, generally we were disappointed for a best western, thankfully the Bear Inn is not to far away who served fantastic pub food and better wine

Abismal! We arrived to an extremely busy pub.

Abismal! We arrived to an extremely busy pub. We stood at the check in desk which was covered with dirty plates for ages. No one would acknowledge us, we were totally invisible, eventually one of the barmaids checked us in. Room was nicely decorated however the bathroom skirting was all black mould as was the base of the shower. The window sash cord was dangling but the worst was that we had no view whatsoever from the window! We had a brick wall and roof within touching distance. This restricted daylight should be highlighted on the booking information to give you a choice if you want to continue with the booking or not, I certainly wouldn’t have. Although this is a pub we are still paying hotel prices! Again for dinner the pub was stupidly busy, and everyone was stood waiting for their tables. We were supposed to eat in the restaurant however we were eventually given a table just at the bottom of the stairs. Service was extremely slow but food was ok but it is expensive. Breakfast is another story; no cereal or fruit for breakfast, not enough cups, the boiler was empty, the juice was empty, the service was very very slow. To top it all the cleaner was vacuuming around other guests tables! The place is totally badly managed so won’t be back!!

Warm, friendly welcome and easy check in. Lovely evening meal and excellent choice of breakfasts, very fresh and good quality ingredients. Would go as far to say the traditional English was one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had. The room was clean and bed comfortable and we slept well - black out curtains a good addition. Room 1 was very quiet, at the back of the hotel in the courtyard. The bar and restaurant area while offering good food also has a lovely ambience and we loved the decor.

The location was good for the NEC. I use the hotel every year and so knew what to expect. The food is always good. The young lady in the bar had an excellent attitude. I had a slight problem which she responded to and handled particularly well and subsequently changed what could have been negative feedback to positive feedback. Unfortunately, I didn't make a note of her name, but she should be thanked buy the management for her excellent attitude.

Charming, helpful staff and the room was a huge comfortable suite with desk and bathroom and lots of room to spread out. The bed was very comfortable. Also I was surprised at what a quiet and attractive setting for such a big, corporate hotel. It was excellent value for Bed and Breakfast.
