The hotels garden terrace was lovely. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was great for the train station. The breakfast was 11/10, nicely cooked, and kept me going through to dinner in the evening.

Charming place with kind and helpful staff. Spacious room is separated from the bar and the restaurant so there is no noise. Food for dinner was delicious and reasonably priced, and the breakfast was also fabulous. Spent just one night but would definitely come back again to explore Peak District.

The room was a reasonable size and clean and in good decorative order. The bed was outstanding probably the largest and best we have ever slept in. A good thick mattress with a mattress topper on top so firm support with a soft top - just what you want after a day out walking. Good sturdy bed base so no creaking. We loved the breakfast, start with the 'continental' and then move on to the 'Full English' - perfect start for a day out. We also ate in the evening and there is a reasonable selection of choices on the menu. The homemade pies are excellent and the portions are large. The hotel has been tastefully decorated mixing modern colours and lighting with older features which all fit together well. Plenty of free parking opposite the hotel. Friendly and helpful host made the stay very enjoyable. Great location for the Peak District with walks direct from the hotel and many more ambitious walks and places to visit are available within short distances.

One of the best places I have ever stayed at! Centrally located in the Peak District it is a perfect base from which to explore the whole area. The building, interiors and gardens are well kept, well decorated and exceptionally charming. The room was spacious and full if light. The food was of amazing quality and simply delicious. The staff were helpful, friendly and extremely attentive. You can tell everyone is working to make your stay as special as possible.

The rooms are new and stylishly finished - they are really spacious and the bathrooms / showers in particular are superb. We were unlucky to go on a Monday as the pub/restaurant was closed and we would have liked to try it, (it looks like it will be great) but will do so the next time we are in the region. The establishment is in the countryside, which we really enjoyed, but we had to drive to the next village to get lunch / dinner, so that should be taken into account when booking. All in all, this is a superb place to stay in the Peak District and we will certainly be back when we have more time.

Clean and comfortable. Easy check-in and check-out. Well situated to go hiking. Good choice of food. One of the employees, "Dina"/"Deema"(sorry) went out of her way to find us a solution with public transport. We had planned to visit some spots but the online information were outdated. She was very helpful. Other staff members were also nice and gave us precise directions to go hiking. FYI: If you are travelling by bus in this area, you better be patient. 😅

Try the hop on hop off bus to get around good value. You can get to Chatsworth, Castleton and Bakewell and many more in between. Would also recommend the Indian restaurant Maazi in Hathersage plenty of choice and good service.

Nice little town, several choices of eating places. Bank House was excellent for evening meal. I like the fact there is a lido in the town, though we didn't swim there. Must be lovely with the hills all around. Great starting point for exploring - lovely walks along the river Derwent and up to the "Edges" among the birch trees. Short drive to Bakewell, Baslow, Chatsworth, Castleton, Ladybower. Chesterfield or Sheffield if you want bigger towns.

A great base for exploring the Peak District and there are good bus links to Bakewell and Sheffield. I recommend The Bank House for a great Sunday lunch. There is a small fish & chip shop next door to The Bank House which does very good fish and chips but pay with cash if you can. Maazi's Indian Restaurant does decent Indian food but we found the staff there very stand off-ish. The local pubs promote the beers of local breweries such as Eyam. There is a good mix of locals and tourists / walkers. We spent a long weekend there and it was perfect.

Great place for walking and relaxing in a small quiet village. Enjoyed a lovely walk to the church to see where Little John was laid to rest and soak up the surrounding views, which in late autumn were very colourful. A tranquil place that would suit any visitor. Missed the outdoor swimming pool, a must for next time!

Great hotel located in Hathersage. Staff were friendly and welcoming and were there to help if needed. Ate in the pub on two nights, although lively with regulars, food and choice of beers were very good, hence going back the second night. Room was clean tidy and bigger than expected. Traditional breakfast was top notch a great start to a day in the Peak District.

The location is excellent for the village of Hathersage with good free parking. The room was well equipped and looked like it had been recently fe furbished but in a style appropriate for the building. The food in the main restaurant was excellent very well prepared and delicious. The staff although very busy were all very friendly and helpful.

Room was warm and stuffy Bed and bathroom clean and comfortable I arrived at 11.45 as I wanted to leave my car in thir car park before going to a family event. I know it was too early to check in room but wanted to talk to hotel staff but it was all locked up, they don't open until noon. This is a pub with rooms, not a hotel.

Like - quirky, well equipped, warm and comfortable Dislike - location - on main road, directions poor and trying to find the property on a very busy main road on a Friday afternoon was challenging as the postcode is not accurate and the property is a long way out of Hathersage.
