FAQs about hotels in Glasgow

Fun-Loving and Forward Thinking

Scotland’s largest city, Glasgow combines Victorian architecture and a vibrant arts scene. A former European City of Culture, it is home to many national organisations including the Scottish Ballet and the National Theatre of Scotland. The museums are also world class. Not to be missed are the futuristic-looking Glasgow Science Centre and the eclectic exhibits at the Kelvingrove.

Lined with Georgian buildings, George Square is the city’s focal point and the spot for Glasgow Hogmanay celebrations. Fanning out from here are streets housing venues for the city’s main love: music. From classical concerts to up-and-coming bands, every taste is catered for.

As host of the 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow is also a city of sport. Scotland’s 2 most iconic football clubs - Celtic and Rangers - are based here, as is the national football stadium Hampden Park. The Scottish Football Museum is also an excellent walk through the beautiful game.

Last but not least is the shopping in Glasgow. Shopping centres cover everything from high street brands to international designers. So when you fly into Glasgow Airport, make sure you’ve left enough space in your bags!

Take the city tour bus to gain a feel of the different areas, it’s a great way to get to the ‘must see’ places. The Kelvingrove museum is amazing with a brilliant organ recital at 1pm, I had lunch here then later on tea and cake - both very tasty. Transport museum worth a visit too. Glasgow is an easy city to walk or travel round. Buchanan Galleries a great shopping mall

This is the second time we came to Glasgow. The city is beautiful, the people are extremely nice (except for driver of taxi 222). The transport is a bit difficult to master, but I will study it better next time I come, next summer. The weather is unpredictable.

Glasgow is a wonderful city. We had a lovely evening meal and a great time at The Ivy after exploring the city all day. The only disappointment being that St Georges Square was cordoned off completely. Favorite place...............The Willows tea rooms.

Amazing how Glasgow has turned around from its grimy industrial past into the liberal cultural place of today. Nearby was the Tenement House museum and also the Royal Scots Fusileers museum apart from the night life of Succihal St Exelent public for exploring further afield.

The location in the city centre across from Glasgow Central train station we couldn't believe how soundproof the building was even though there were pubs all around the hotel and a bar and bowling alley on the 7th floor you couldn't hear a thing. Very comfortable bed and pillow, great bathroom facilities. We highly recommend staying here !!!
