Fowey is a great place in good weather if you like boats and rivers and plenty of quaint and historical sites as well as individual shops and restaurants, pubs and cafes. It has a beach and boat trips and great walking trails on the coast path and river estuary. We loved being so close to amenities and the port not far...
We loved being so close to amenities and the port not far from our accommodation at Jackdaws, we also enjoyed walking to Readymoney Cove, it was so surreal. There are so many things to do, we weren’t short of attractions within and around Fowey, visiting Lahnydrock House, Mevagissy, and the very charming village of Mousehole. The views over the Fowey estuary are glorious, and it can be fascinating to see there is always a boat on the move, or to notice how the view of Polruan and the coastline varies with the tide and the light conditions. The restaurant, lounge and hotel room, all nicely done, were completely special as they look out on all that. Be warned that a degree of fitness is required as Fowey is essentially one big hill, the apartment is at the bottom and the car park is at the top.
