Very neat, comfy and providing anything you might need (there’s a very nice bar with cool music and tasty dishes, there’s a cable car 🚡service, gorgeous mountain paths, freshest air and it’s quiet both during the day and at night). I am happy I stayed there, will definitely come again and choose this as my resting spot next time I travel to this direction.

FAQs about hotels in Fort William

In the Shadow of Ben Nevis

Fort William is shadowed by Great Britain’s highest peak, Ben Nevis, and lies on the shores of pretty Loch Linnhe. The Scottish Highland’s 2nd biggest city attracts hordes of hikers, climbers and mountain bikers, enhancing its self-proclaimed reputation as the ‘outdoor capital of Scotland’.

In the city centre, on High Street, is the West Highland Museum that explains local Highland history. The West Highland Way is a famous, long-distance walking route that begins and ends just outside Fort William.

The Nevis Range ski centre and Nevis Range gondola provides a stunning view of the Great Glen. A downhill mountain-biking track also begins here. This breath-taking track has hosted numerous world cups as well as the 2007 World Championships. Stop along the way to try the local whiskey at Ben Nevis Distillery.

Named after William of Orange, Fort William has been home to the Clan Cameron for many generations. Booking.com invites you to soak up the outdoor highlights and history of this charming city and surrounding countryside with its extensive range of hotels, bed and breakfasts and guest houses.

I love Fort William, the area with the Loch right in front is stunning. There are some great little pubs to eat and have a drink, and a good amount of restarunts to choose from. There are hotels to B and Bs to stay. It is small with a lot of tourists from all over the world. It is a good base to drive and see some great country side.

What a lovely little town. I enjoyed good meals, a tour and tasting at Ben Nevis Distillery, being able to do laundry by Morrisons after completing the West Highland Way, the charming bookstore, and the West Highland Museum. A great stop.

Catching the Jacobite train was the highlight of our trip although Fort William nestled under Ben Nevis was stunning! The loch cruise was informative and fun. All in all I wish we had stayed longer to have taken in some of the local hiking trails… next time!

A small town but with shops, cafes, cinema and good rail and bus links.speciailses in outdoor activities as UK outdoor centre. The West Highland walking Way from Glasgow ends here and the Great Glen way to Inverness commences. Lots of walks from low level to high mountains with bike trails and plentiful buses to lochs and mountains. The town sits on a loch amidst mountains and the loch is actually a 30 mile inlet of the Atlantic. Thomas Telfords, Caledonian Canal and Neptunes Staircase ( locks) is nearby with boat moorings.

Deepak, Rose Ann, Vanessa and John were so very helpful, gracious, and full of smiles. They ensured our reunion of cousins went off well, assisting with technology, allowing individual payments for dinner, and providing great service all round. Thank you to everybody involved! We were upgraded to a room overlooking the Loch. Beautiful view. Appreciated the biscuits and crisps too. Thank you. Fort William hotels are expensive, and in that context the Muthu was good value. Interesting decor with some lovely lamps in the lounge area.

The room and bathroom were large. The view from the room was onto the canal and towards the distant hills. Parking area outside the hotel and also a few metres away. Friendly staff. The hotel is in a small village a few kilometres away from Fort William but an easy drive to it. Walking along the canal can be done directly from the hotel.
