We expected Cleethorpes to be slightly upmarket with nice cafes and restaurants. We did NOT expect Cleethorpes to be run down worse than Blackpool. It was very very busy with the overweight and tattooed masses which was surprising because there was very little to actually do. It was sad to see so many shuttered and closed businesses but all the chippies had queues outside It needs a good clean and a few coats of paint. I've not been to cleethorpes since I was a child and now...
I've not been to cleethorpes since I was a child and now I've returned with my children and will be returning again.. If you get the weather on your side you'll have a lovely time 🌞 We visited the leisure centre, ate food from the food stalls along the sea front, ate fish and chips in papas on the pier, played in the amusements and had doughnuts and ice cream from Julie's in the sea front and love it all! ♥️Guest review byRimmington - 8.0

Cleethorpes is a good place for spending time with family especially with children.Reasonable prices,lots of entertainment and activities.Close to train station.Variety of food option available. I was only able to stay one night & didn’t really have time to explore more. The sandy beach was perfect for my young nephew and there seemed to be some great restaurants. I wanted a bit of time to spend on the beach and go paddling,so ideal as I stayed near the beach. Good beach for families. Good fish and chip shop. Had a meal at Papas fish and chip restaurant on the pier. . The streets were kept clean, although the temporary portalloo toilets should have been maintained over the weekend. Lovely long promenade to walk on and also a land train. Good service by the open topped buses. Train station not far from the main road on the front, so not far to walk to where I was staying. Our room was spacious and well furnished. The place was spotless. There was an excellent breakfast and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is practically on the seafront and has plenty of restaurants and pubs within a few minutes walk. There is parking at the hotel and a public car park around the corner.
