Campbeltown used to be a little run-down but it was looking pretty good with lots of independent shops, two distilleries and a busy yacht harbour. Mainly is to visit Springbank distillery, other than that, there's not much to see at the town. We were hoping to get some live shellfish fresh from the sea, but doesn't seem like available to be sold to consumers directly. Great place to base for golf, walking, fishing or just absolute relaxation. It’s a hidden gem and even the journey here is spectacular with the alps of Arrochar to the crashing waves along the Kintyre peninsula. Nothing is too much trouble. Check-in was easy. The hotel is clean, comfortable and cosy with a lovely lounge for your use. Breakfast is included and you can choose a cooked or continental breakfast or both. Our room was large and had a window opening onto the back garden and was very quiet.
