FAQs about hotels in Blackpool

Beside the Seaside, Beside the Sea

A favoured holiday spot since the Victorian era, Blackpool is a traditional English seaside town. Amusement arcades and crazy golf courses line the promenade and dotted between them are plenty of places to pick up fresh fish ‘n’ chips and Blackpool rock.

On the 5-mile sandy beach, children can enjoy Punch and Judy shows and donkey rides. Old-fashioned entertainment at its best. At the other end of the scale is the Blackpool Pleasure Beach, a fairground complex comprising a variety of rides, including The Big One - once the world’s tallest and steepest rollercoaster. They actually had to get permission from nearby Blackpool Airport to erect it!

More seaside pursuits are on the town’s 3 piers, one of which is Grade II listed. However, the most recognisable landmark is the Blackpool Tower which houses a circus, 4D cinema and a world-renowned ballroom, to name a few. Modelled on the Eiffel Tower, it is spectacularly lit during the annual Blackpool Illuminations, when the whole town is bathed in bright lights. The trams plying the prom are also lit. Look out for the one shaped like a ship.

A popular stag and hen do destination, Blackpool offers accommodation ranging from North Shore hotels to South Shore B&Bs - see Booking.com for the best choice.

It’s a shame you couldn’t walk around the pleasure beach fun fair without having to pay an entrance fee like you used to be able to years ago . Felt like you were missing out. Too old for rides but young enough to walk round it. Blackpool was kept very clean by the council workers , excellent job there. Lots to see and do .

Blackpool was nice as always, lovely weather.

Blackpool was nice as always, lovely weather. Gutted that the first night was ruined by the noise from the kitchen outside the window, couldn’t get to sleep at all, reception staff was absolutely disgusting and very unpleasant with his attitude, I moved rooms the following day, but I was so tired due to the lack of sleep, ruined my complete break, with no apologies from any member of staff, gutted, was so looking forward to my stay,

It would be great if more people would visit Blackpool to boost its economy It’s got so many things to offer at a smaller cost than the cities that have the same (dungeons, Madame Tussaud’s, sea life centre etc) plus all the great arcades and a beach! Parking and driving round the centre is no problem Illuminations are as wonderful as ever I hadn’t been to Blackpool for decades, since I was a child and decided to take my owl kids who absolutely loved it! It’s rough round the edges in parts but retains so much charm

What can I say about Blackpool that everyone doesn't already...

What can I say about Blackpool that everyone doesn't already know? It's Blackpool. It's a run down seaside resort with plenty to see and do. There are good transport facilities so getting around isn't much of a problem. It caters for Hen and Stag do's so it is nearly always busy. It is the archetypal British seaside resort and we 'chuffin' love it.

I have visited Blackpool many times before.

I have visited Blackpool many times before. It was busy on this visit due to the illuminations just starting. My main reason for my one night visit was to walk on the promenade which i enjoyed apart for one thing, that was the amount of litter that had been dropped.

    I expected way more.

I expected way more. Have been wanting to visit for over 2 decades so was very underwhelmed. Seems a bit of a run down ghost town in places which was very sad to see. I can imagine it would have been amazing in its hay day.

Finding this little gem was brilliant. I usually stay in the big hotel on the seafront, so we didn't know what the Ascot was going to be like. We were both surprised. The staff (Noren) were amazing. Nothing was ever too much. My family is coming back down to Blackpool for my dad's 80th, and we have already booked up with the Ascot. Oh, the breakfast is delicious! Amazing staff, amazing rooms, amazing breakfast for an amazing price. Thanks for making it a home away from home. 💚

It's a really good hotel. Stayed a few times now for gigs on the north side of Blackpool. The staff have always been brilliant with us, they can have a laugh. It's a nice clean place. If we've been early and our rooms are ready, they don't mind letting us in early so we can get ready to get out early. It's in a good place being right on the front of the north pier. Stayed 3 or 4 times now and will be staying again in the future no doubt
