Le moulin de La Retardière was a place where you could truly feel the atmosphere of a French countryside village. We checked in after 5 PM, and it was a pity that we couldn't arrive earlier to enjoy the ambiance more. The couple, Sophie and Hubert, welcomed us warmly and introduced us to their horse named Moustache (Mustache). Sophie, like me, wasn't very fluent in English, but she tried her best to explain about the hotel and the surrounding area. Thanks to Sophie's guidance, we were able to have dinner at a nearby Italian restaurant with pizza and salad. That restaurant was the best value for taste among the places we experienced in France. The salad had almost half an octopus in it! The hotel's living room was very cozy with a lit fireplace, and we were able to enjoy a relaxing evening in a French farmhouse. In the morning, we breathed fresh air with a refreshing breeze and visited the ruins of a nearby castle. Sophie's daughter Margot also made French cookies for us, which was really kind. If I visit France again, I would like to stay here and experience more of this area.

Everything was great! This is a duplex apartment. On the first floor there is a living room with a large sofa. On the second floor there is a bedroom. The kitchen has absolutely everything you might need. Lots of appliances and different devices.

    we had a stay of one night which was just fine. Beautifull B&B at le Moulin La Retardière which is highly recommended. within an 30 min walk you are in the city center were you can find some restaurants. most of them were closed for dinner but we found Café Pépone which we enjoyed a lot!

    Wonderfully designed space, gorgeous setting, spa is also fun however not exclusive as day trippers permitted & is at additional cost. Massages were good, expensive in € compared to Bali or Thailand. Location is 1in walk from the incredible huge hypermarket E.Leclerc ORVAULT, if you need anything- walk up there.

    Tranquil, beautiful, relaxing. For once, much nicer than the photos. Sophie the proprietor was delightful and very welcoming. Every facility you could wish for. Orvault is a pretty town with a rural feel though so close to Nantes. A real gem. We’ll return next year.

    The staff were lovely and very helpful and considerate. It was very peaceful, with lovely gardens surrounding it. The restaurant next to the hotel, the food was outstanding! Highly recommend. I will never forget such a perfect meal. The flavours were exquisite!
