I never give a perfect 10 for any holiday location but this will be the exception. Heidi and Gunter are exceptional hosts - lovely genuine people who made our brief stay a wonderful experience. We ate on location both evenings and it was perfect - pizza on the second night from an ancient oven. We could only stay a couple of days - would love to return to this piece of paradise.

Such a warm welcome! The host, Ghislane went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and at home. Breakfast was lovely, with home made jams and the chance to chat with other travellers around the guesthouse table.

Very pretty hamlet. We arrived needing beer and our host delivered immediately. Such a lovely friendly atmosphere. The rooms are a bit like stepping back into the seventies but we loved it. Very laid back atmosphere and a very friendly dog too. Would definitely stay here again.

Spacious, comfortable room with a lovely view of the Cathedral and mountains. We stayed two nights, and enjoyed dinner both nights in the restaurant. A huge plus was to be able to talk in Afrikaans with Neil. The staff is friendly and attentive and assisted us with our laundry.

    Conques is a wonderful town!

    Conques is a wonderful town! Every building in every street is beautiful. And the church is spectacular. This was our second visit and we were glad to stay overnight in the town so we could go to a concert in the church in the evening and see the light show on the tympanum above the entry doors. And walking the on the floodlit upper level gallery in the church was an experience not to be missed.

    We found our stay at Conques to be a really fascinating...

    We found our stay at Conques to be a really fascinating stopover- quite isolated and very beautiful. There was a rustic charm to everything and the people were really open and friendly. We ate at one of the larger restaurants right across from the cathedral and a pitstop for the travellers on the Compostela. You have to park and walk a very short distance to the town but its organised and doesn't cost too much. I would plan where to eat earlier in the day as it was a last minute choice for us.
