What a fantastic way to spend a night! The château du Boschet is well situated for a bike trip along the Vilaine and well renovated, which makes you feel like you are visiting the Louis XIV era! The hosts kindly opened their doors for us and we were able to visit most rooms and the beautiful french garden, which hides many gems. We were immersed in a historically and culturally rich environment for a night, which made us feel really special, thank you !

Remarkable Chateau in rural Brittany, but not too far from the N137. It was originally built by the kennel master of the Sun king and apparently untouched by the Revolution so retains a splendour beautifully decorated by previous owners. The current owners are continuing to restore sympathetically the superb rooms. Only 3 rooms available but all magnificent. After a tour we opted for another room purely because it was more splendid. The park and gardens have a app based tour to allow an appreciation of the lifestyle of the 17th century. Breakfast was with home baked brioche and home made jam. Marvellous welcome and information from the host who has good English.

    See my initial review. We stayed for one night and enjoyed ourselves, but ideally we enjoy mingling with other guests and owners and this chateau is not really set up for this. Having said that, the owner was very gracious and gave us a full tour and added some wonderful historical insights. It is a truly historical place
