Navafria is surrounded by mountainous countryside with well defined hiking routes, of various degrees of difficulty, through the National Park. It is stunningly beautiful. I found the maps on the app Komoot worked well here but Strava did not and there was no mobile signals on the mountain trails. The village itself is very quiet during the winter season. There are few facilities or options for eating at bars or restaurants out of season, however. The restaurants and the largest bar open on various days and times and a degree of planning was necessary. We found a gem for affordable eating at La Estrella Bar. This bar is small but the owners serve good food and wines from a simple menu.Guest review byTonyPortugal
