This refined country hotel feel like a well kept home, it has nothing to do with the cookie cutter hotels that I am used to visit. The owners are extremely welcoming and kind ladies that speak perfectly multiple languages, making this little jem of a resort feel like a cultured home with guests from Al around the world. The hostal is in the historic part of town. It’s an old house completely modernised and keeping the historic charm. The bed is super comfortable and the cleanliness is excellent. No breakfast but there is a coffee machine and a comfortable shared lounge and a terrace. Although on the road there is no sound of traffic in the back rooms.

Stunning hotel. Huge room. Really stylish. Good location. The owner, Maria, is very kind. The pool/terrace area is lovely for relaxing. If I could give this hotel 11/10, I would.

Basic but large room with three singles. Everything was gleaming clean. Staff were warm and welcoming despite arriving at 3AM. Exceptional helpful. The weather was cold at night and the room was warm. En suite had a great shower and lots of hot water. Soap towels etc were plentiful. Had a fridge but no kettle, but we knew this before we arrived and brought one. The lift was great for my mum as we were on the third floor. Close to cafes and restaurants, not far from the town centre. Velez is gorgeous. A good blend of old and new.

I can't understand why there were so many negative comments about this property. The room was huge with a sitting area. Hotel Veliz shares the building with Hotel Avenida which is no problem at all. If you want to experience a local Spanish town this is a good one to try. A wonderful Spanish restaurant next door doing a fabulous menu del dia lunchtimes only. Take a 20 minute walk into the town and bar hop. Loads of places to eat and drink on the way. Bus stop opposite the hotel to go into Torre del Mar or the El Ingenio shopping centre. Great breakfast cafe 200m up called El tomate making their own churros. Parking all the way up the middle of the main road. There is a full size fridge and a hairdryer which weren't featured in the write up. We will certainly stay here again.
