La Molina had suffered from a distinct lack of natural snow when we visited in January but the extensive snowmaking meant that there was plenty of choice and variety, especially if you used the links over to Masella. The town itself is fairly functional, and the night life would appear to be very quiet but that suited us fine. Climate change is robbing the eastern Pyrenees of their precipitation so snow machines are the order of the day. The demand on water resources for this is unsustainable. The Catalonians have gone to town with their language so forget your school-learnt Spanish and get deep into Google Translate. It doesn't get a lot of English tourists so not everyone there will be able to speak English. La Molina is good for beginners and better during the week.
La Molina is good for beginners and better during the week. At weekends it can be overcrowded at the bottom with longer queues at the first lift and for material rental and difficult to find parking. La Molina is a perfect destination for good skiing, a relaxed atmosphere and quality service. So not pretentious like many resorts in the Alps, not overpriced and everything you need is in one place. We will certainly return. we were lucky to be there just out of season, which made it a very easy and memorable experience, it helped that the snow was great, the sky was blue and the sun was out each day.Guest review byAvivaUnited Kingdom
