Utterly fabulous. Exquisitely renovated townhouse, with everything you would need for the most comfortable stay. The terraces to the rear - one from the living room & one from a bedroom were just beautiful. We loved our short stay here, with friends, and will definitely be revisiting.

It was very easy to communicate with the owner, who was very kind and understanding when I arrived later than planned. It's an impeccably clean flat with three decent bedrooms, a well enough equipped kitchen and a roofed outside patio, but only one bathroom with toilet, which you may want to keep in mind if you are several guests. The house is situated at the top of this charming village and requires some steep climbing, perfect if you want to visit the old castle which sits just a little bit higher. There is a supermarket on the way up to the flat; make sure you buy any provisions needed before you arrive or that steep ascent awaits you again.

It’s quirky and the house itself is pleasant . It is interesting in that it’s within a zoo. However that means that the paths are covered in animal faeces and there the horrendous noise of a leaf blower seemingly all the time.

    Jimena de la Frontera is a lovely rural town with a view of surrounding countryside and of Gibraltar in the distance. The castle at the top of the town is very interesting and nicely preserved (as ruins.) we enjoyed good food and friendly service at the local restaurants off of the main town square.

    Well positioned for general access to the village, we were at a car show in the town square a 5 min walk. The restaurants around the square were friendly, of good quality and with 'Spanish prices' not tourist rip offs.

    The town was very tranquil and pleasant.

    The town was very tranquil and pleasant. Our aim was to visit Castillo de Castallar which was easily reached. We enjoyed pollo asado from a stand by the plaza and the well stocked grocery store below the house had everything we needed. We found free parking right in front of the house, but then realized that the exit route was narrow and very pitched. After, we just left the car in the public space at the town entrace and walked up.

    Jimena de la Frontera is a great place to visit, bars, restaurants and great views from all over the village. It is very well located for a visit to the coast (Estepona, Malaga, Cadiz or Soto Grande), or inland to Ronda, Gaucin or Jerez. Sevilla and Cordoba also possible but Jimena is a place you don't need to leave either. Many great walks right from Jimena and a great place to relax and have a holiday.

    Pretty pueblo blanco with a good interesting FREE castle. Nice narrow cobbled streets. Bars and a municipal swimming pool. Excellent scenery around. Plenty of Brits; if you like that kind of thing! Good for a day or two. If you’re a birdwatcher: Egyptian and Griffon Vultures, Black Kite, Booted Eagle and Lesser Kestrel over/from the castle/village.

    Jimena de la Frontera I found to be a lovely well preserved...

    Jimena de la Frontera I found to be a lovely well preserved village. It has a busy living atmosphere and some restaurants serving good food. The castle is great to visit and the views outstanding. We also found a walk which follows the course of the river and in addition to the wonderful views, birds and nature it has interesting old military works left from a mining era. It's a linear walk of about 3 kilometres ending up at the village again.

    A comfortable apartment with plenty of space for 2, set in the gorgeous rural town of Jimena de la Frontera. The pool and terrace had stunning views and were perfect for cooling off and outdoor tapas. A reasonably well equipped kitchen with all we needed for our holiday.

    Very relaxing, eclectic and peaceful.Pool area is so chilled . We had 1 evening meal and it was so tasty. Karl cooks a set 3 course meal and it is excellent . Breakfast is healthy and delicious . The vibe is chill! It’s more a yoga retreat vibe than a hotel I would say.
