The UNESCO sights are extraordinary. The mosque being the top attraction. The Free tours are excellent. I took 2 with Arte en Cordoba and a paid tour of the mosque with them. Amazing and historical city! The people were really nice and happy! The architecture was amazing! To get around we just need energy to walk around, very easy to find the places. Although not a big city, Cordoba was packed full of historic charms to enjoy. We used the open top buses over two days because we visited in July which you will probably know, is rather too hot to walk. There is an abundance of beautiful buildings, churches and museums as well as charming streets with welcoming restaurants and cafes. It is relatively quiet during these very hot months, therefore most restaurants were not busy but I think this would be different before and after those months. We booked a walking tour of the mesquite and Jewish quarter. It was a scam. The guide did not turn up, and they mesquite was closed for mass at the supposed ti8me of our tour. What a city. Never felt unsafe. The old town was beautiful with narrow streets and restaurants and bars everywhere. Do yourself a favour and eat at Pedro Ximenez. Fantastic food and staff that are attentive but don’t interfere. (Some restaurant staff are more interested in their phones and watching the clock rather than doing their job) Take a tour of the Mezquita - no explanation of what’s there unless you have a tour - incredible!!! The Archaeological Museum was a surprise for us. €1.50 entrance fee and it held our interest for the time we were there. Cordoba is SO old and has SO much history. Amazing place - we loved it. The hotel staff went over and above to ensure guests were looked after. Rooms were still ready, kitchen continued to offer salads and cold food in very difficult times. The hotel staff need to be very proud of there actions which meant our break to Cordoba was not impacted by the power outage.
