Belmonte was such a beautiful village, with friendly locals...
Belmonte was such a beautiful village, with friendly locals and enchanting buildings. Plenty of fantastic restaurants, a Manchego cheese producer and bakeries. Restaurante La Muralla was our favourite. Belmonte castle is very interesting, and because they have a cafe there, you can easily spend half a day. The place was the HQ of the local Guardia Civil for over 100 years and some of the features reflect this in a very good way. There is a castle close by which is well worth a visit and was a bit of a surprise to us. We had underground secure parking . Our room had a view of the castle .
