Our stay at this hotel was excellent from the very beginning. Upon arriving in Cairo, a hotel driver was already waiting for us, making our transfer to the hotel seamless and comfortable. Additionally, we needed to add an extra night to our reservation, and the hotel staff managed it without any issues. The staff was outstanding at all times, providing us with great recommendations on what to do in Cairo and Giza. They even helped us arrange private drivers for all our activities, which gave us a sense of security and allowed us to enjoy our visits in an organized and stress-free manner. Breakfast was spectacular, with an unbeatable view of the Pyramids of Giza. As for the service, all the employees were top-notch—attentive, friendly, and always willing to help. Without a doubt, this is an experience we would repeat. Highly recommended!

I would say this is one of the best hotels in Cairo. It’s clean, modern, and has everything you could possibly need. For a very reasonable price, we were even upgraded to a suite with a terrace that led directly to the pool. The room was fantastic, fully equipped with everything you could think of. The pool itself is small but perfect for relaxing, taking a swim, and enjoying a drink. During the day, the staff bring out pizza or small snacks to the pool area, which you can try or grab a slice of—such a thoughtful gesture that makes the stay even more enjoyable. The hotel has a sleek, modern design and offers top-tier service. There’s also a Starbucks inside, which is very convenient if you want to grab a coffee. Breakfast was good, with plenty of options to choose from. While nothing stood out as particularly special to me, it had everything you’d need for a solid start to the day. The à la carte restaurant, on the other hand, was excellent. Every dish we tried was delicious, and I would definitely recommend dining there. The staff were also very friendly, professional, and easy to talk to.

My stay at The St. Regis was truly exceptional from start to finish. The hotel exceeded all my expectations in every way. One of the standout features for me was the impeccable cleanliness—every corner of the property felt spotless and well-maintained, creating an atmosphere of pure comfort and luxury. The on-site restaurant was another highlight. The quality of the food, the presentation and the variety offered were all outstanding. Every meal was a delight, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful service making each dining experience special. The hotel itself is beautifully designed and feels brand new with a modern yet elegant aesthetic throughout. What truly sets The St. Regis apart, though, is the staff. Every team member I encountered was incredibly professional, warm and genuinely eager to help. Their attention to detail and personalised service went far beyond my expectations. Clean hotel, friendly employees, great location. Felt safe and taken care of. The last day I was suffering from food poisoning (NOT from the hotel food, I didn’t eat there), and they assisted me greatly. Very clean and modern hotel! One of the best near the Spinx. Hotel staff very professional and friendly. Breakfast is so filling and just 5 minutes from the entrance! The food in the restaurant is really good and reasonably priced; one of the best shisha I have in Egypt. Definitely highly recommended!

Resting Place of Pharaohs

Born of an ancient civilisation, Cairo is a vast metropolis centred around the Nile. Its sheer scale can feel overwhelming (especially when flying over it into Cairo Airport), so plan ahead. An obvious starting point are the Giza Pyramids. Although the pharaohs are long gone, the grandeur of their burial pyramids, the Sphinx and Solar Boat are testament to their ambition.

The city’s Egyptian Museum houses a dazzling display of ancient Egyptian artefacts, including finds from Tutankhamun’s tomb in Luxor. Around the corner is Tahrir, a huge square and focal point of the 2011 Egyptian Revolution.

East is Islamic Cairo, home to 9th-century Ibn Tulun Mosque, Al-Azhar Mosque (site of the world’s oldest university), and the Khan el-Khalili souk – remember to haggle. The Citadel, with its elegant Mohammed Ali Pasha Mosque, sits on a hill offering far-reaching city views.

If you want to step out of cultural tours, take a Nile cruise by felucca, spot wildlife in Wadi Digla desert park or visit Egypt’s top theme parks: Dream Park and Magic Land, where you can tour Egyptian TV studios.

Before heading to your Cairo accommodation, sample the local cuisine – the falafel and fuul (bean paste) are delicious. Turkish coffee is a staple and there are hundreds of shisha bars, while major Cairo hotels have bars serving alcohol.

    Arranged at last minute and hotel was very helpful at arranging airport taxi. Room was passable and rather clean. Food ok (breakfast buffet), some items are regularly out though. It is pretty cheap and close to Giza pyramids and those are the only advantages. View from the tarrance is ok, but the whole area looks rather depresing due to lots of poorly treated animals, unfinished constructions, chaotic design and garbage. But that is esentially Egypt.

    We really enjoyed this small Airbnb close to the Pyramids (Walking distance) Youssef and his staff took care of us with great hospitality and the airport transfer went very well. We stayed on 3 hotels during our stay in egypt and this is the only one that we had a positive experience. The other 2 are both 5 star hotels so Sequoia even with no stars is 1000 times better than some of the big ones.
