Location is flawless - on a quiet street, but just off the main road. Aluguars stop virtually opposite the property and are very frequent, both going up the Paul Valley and along the coastal road. There is a little mini market just around the corner, open until 20:00. The owner is super - helpful and able to advise on all the best walks in the area. He suggested a much better walk than the one we initially wanted to do; he had maps and suggested places to eat. The room was very comfortable, clean, and the balcony was a nice bonus. The kitchen area is really nice, half al-fresco. All the staff were lovely and kind and very helpful. The internet works fine - there are 2 networks to choose from. I was also very grateful to have access to a guest fridge in the kitchen area. We regretted cancelling one of the 2 nights we'd initially wanted to stay and only staying 1. For bonus points, there is also a little 8-week-old puppy :)

Danisia is an excellent host, always caring about her guests, available to chat and give advices. The room is comfortable with private bathroom and hot water. The location right on the main road with a sea front is nice and it is very practical to get public transport there. Fully recommended!

Really good value for money here. A good location close to the centre of Paul and to Aluguers going in different directions, and a friendly owner as well, who also let me leave my bag there when we checked out, so that we could go for a hike and come and pick up the luggage later

I loved this place surrounded by bloomed sugar cane with amazing view on Paul valley. The host Lady is very busy but also very helpful and easygoing person. I was advised about few really nice trails I had no idea those are existing and also shared taxi with other guests. Meals are delicious for fair price. To avoid disappointment it's good to know about general problems involved in Cape Verde like water or electricity limitation. It should not be a problem for a typical hiker.

    Lovely small town by the coast close to mountain trails.

    Lovely small town by the coast close to mountain trails. We stayed 5 nights but would have happily stayed another couple of nights. Good restaurants in town including an authentic Italian place run by an Italian and serving home-made pasta with tables on his terrace. He has a wonderful model town, that he has made himself, on display for you to look at while waiting to order. Casa Maracuja served good local cuisine and we also enjoyed the food at Paladar where they serve cachupa. We had a rental car, but there were also alughers available for transport to Porto Novo, the ferry port.
