This is a unique property. The location is beautiful. The grounds and buildings have been developed in a charming eccentric manner. Breakfast is simple traditional and satisfying Costa Rican fare. The staff were very accommodating. I would recommend to my friends without reservation.

Charming two level cabin in a remote location, but convenient for an early morning visit to Poás Volcano. We were just 2 people but the cabin has sleeping for at least 10 people as well as a kitchen with hob, fridge freezer and wood fireplace, plus WiFi. The views are spectacular! Lots of blankets which came in handy as this was the coldest area we stayed in CR! Host was lovely and was waiting for us to guide us on where to park as waze was going to take us further down the track! Make sure you let her know your arrival time.

We were very happy to stay at this lovely small hotel with a beautiful garden and friendly hosts 🌸 The spacious, well-kept garden is wonderful, with funny rabbits freely hopping around🥰 Everything is very clean, and the breakfast and dinner were delicious. We were very satisfied and would gladly return🤩

Wonderful location, with views towards Poas Volcano. Tranquil and peaceful location with beautiful gardens, landscape. Friendly and helpful staff throughout. Good choice of breakfast was included in the room rate we had paid. We ate each night at the lodge and the food was delicious and such a lovely cosy restaurant. The lounge area was beautifully furnished and we loved the little log burners which warmed it. We would certainly stay here again.

Interesting place, a perfect point to start a visit to the Volcano Poás, outstanding view from the room, very kind and helpful staff and very good food in the restaurant. Good prices. Little complaint: it was quite cold inside during the night.

    We stayed at the Altura Hotel. It was amazing beyond words! Can not say enough about this place. We stayed in a 'dome/yurt' and it was beautiful, well appointed and excellent in every sense of the word. Breakfast was included and it was such a treat!

    This was a beautiful property.

    This was a beautiful property. We enjoyed the foliage and flowers and all the little sitting areas. The room was very comfortable and had all of the amenities we required. The only thing that could be improved upon is to have a breakfast selection. It was the same thing every morning.

    Hotel La Paz is a magical place. Everything was absolutely perfect and I can only regret that we stayed only 1 night there. Our room was georgeous with very comfortable beds and beautiful wooden walls that make a truly natural atmosphere. The owner and his team work very hard to be sure that every guest is very welcome. They are very helpful, friendly and I very appreciate their hospitality and services. We would love to stay there next time.

    The Altura Hotel exceeded all expectations! It is absolutely stunning! The property and the view is incredible. The rooms and suites are gorgeous. It is a very short drive to the national park to see Volcán Poás. Breakfast was delicious and there was a daily cleaning service. It was an incredible stay!

    The hotel is located 7 minutes from the entrance to the nature reserve (Nacional Volcán Poás) so when we landed in San Jose we drove straight to it from the airport. The place is very quiet and the room was very nicely decorated! Unfortunately we stayed at this hotel only one night.

    The hotel staff was very friendly, relaxed and we felt welcome there. In the garden you can watch humming birds drinking and flying by. The food the restaurant and breakfast were good. You can also book coffee tours there.
