Oh my god. Simply incredible!!! We arrived and Jose took all the time to give us a guidance through the area. We received a map and he marked the best spots to eat (the hotels own restaurant is awesome by the way), where to park and also a few things you might not find online. For daytime activities we had no troubles as we just had to ask Jose and he arranged everything (guided walking tour through the national park, zip lining tour, you name it and he took care). He made us feel right at home and took "planing stress" off our shoulders so we could enjoy every minute. As always I've saved the best for last. THE VIEW IS AWESOME. The garden and the windows of every room and of the restaurant are all facing this amazing view down. You can see the clouds go through the smaller valleys below you and sometimes the clouds go right through the garden. To make the garden comfortable to stay, you have a hollywood swing, a viewpoint platform and a covered fireplace (where Jose lights up a nice campfire). All in all, there was no wish that was not fullfilled and sometimes we also got moments, we could not imagine to wish for. Big thank you to Jose and his staff and to all who took the time reading this, don't search further, this is the place you want to stay.

We booked last minute due to an issue at another hotel. They were very accomodating, the reception was very warming and friendly and very helpful. The rooms were very clean, large and the location was perfect for our needs. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The morning breakfast was superb. We recommend this without hesitation and would stay there again.

Everything was absolutely dreamy. We chose Belmar to start our honeymoon off and we couldn’t have picked better. We loved our Peninsula Superior room with an amazing bathtub with a view. The food was glorious. We loved the “garden to plate” concept. We did a beer tasting at the brewery and it was great, too. My husband was so happy! The hotel staff was incredibly polite and helpful; they helped us book a wonderful excursion to the cloud forest with a picnic breakfast up in the canopy as well as a guided tour. Our guide, Daniel, was very knowledgable and had a great sense of humour. I also particularly loved the organic cosmetics provided for us (the vanilla, lavender and pepper shower gel was seriously to die for) as well as lots of amazing beverages from the room fridge including organic iced teas, kombucha and pale ale. There was no air con in the room which I loved as it tends to make me ill usually — the temperature at night was between 16-18 degrees and we slept with open windows, listening to the jungle sounds. Can you think of anything better?!

Main thing for us was the Dutch couple who managed the Hotel, super friendly, knowledgeable, made you feel so relaxed and went that extra mile to make the hotel experience even better but it was also the entire setup that appealed to us, the fact that staying here you was contributing towards helping local children, the style of the hotel was like nothing else we had come across, the main building where reception/restaurant was so open, great views but so stylish with local arts dotted everywhere and beautiful local plants to make you feel relaxed, we loved the rooms set-up , just simple but stylish with a very eco orientated thought put into it and of course the view across Monteverde, the fact that the trees cut down where the plot was for the hotel, all the wood was recycled back into the building and it's furniture, finally the Breakfast, one if not the best we had on our entire Costa Rica journey, an original style dish of beans & rice, with other options which my wife & kid thoroughly enjoyed, washed down with fresh coffee & juices, also it was a short easy journey into town. The couple also helped us with the day to day excursions, sorting out & contacting the places, helping with travel if needed, just made it that much easier to have a great few days in Monteverde recommending what to do and the layout/distance to the places we chose to indulge in, highly recommend this place as not just a place to stay but a total experience to enter into

Javier, Roger and the team were brilliant. They went out of their way to make us feel very special - it was my boyfriend's birthday and they decorated the room to help me surprise him. The tent is spacious, the bed comfortable and humongous and everything you need to make a quick meal if needed. You are surrounded by the forest and you fall asleep to the sound of the forest, wind and rain. We didn't see any animals except a couple of spiders but you hear the birds in trees the moment the sun goes up.
