Beautiful resort very close to one of the entrance at Zhangjiajie National Park, 10-15' walk. The services they provided were very good. They pick us up from the airport, and gave us a very good explanation to visit the park. Our room was very beautiful with a wonderful view to the park and the surrounding area. They have the cutest dog 🐶 We recommend to stay at the resort.

The homestay is very authentic and elegant nestled inside a beautiful mountain. The staff are extremely helpful and caring which makes my stay memorable. They drive you to different national park with nice cars and safe driver. They help you with ticket bookings and itinerary and found us the best guide!

Great location! The staff were very helpful - guiding us on how to get around, recommending excellent places to eat, and even helping us adjust our itinerary so we could make the most of our time. The place is very clean and well-maintained. Breakfast is also worth it - the dumplings are delicious, so definitely choose this option!

We had a very warm welcome. Luckily we could speak English with the owner which is not always possible in China. She was very helpful and gave us good advice. The place is very close to the entrance to the park.

Just back from a wonderful stay at The Avatar Valley Villas and felt compelled to leave a note. Firstly, the location is absolutely spot-on. Situated nicely between both the Cathedral Gardens and Riverside Abbey, it meant we could enjoy a lovely short stroll to each – incredibly convenient and saved us no end of time. What truly made the difference, however, was the staff. Absolutely first-rate! Before we'd even quite figured out our plans for the day, the concierge (James, I believe?) proactively reached out to check if we needed any help with transport. Not only did they swiftly arrange a very comfortable car for our longer trip out to the hills, but they also helped us map out a sensible itinerary and went the extra mile by pre-booking our timed-entry tickets for both main attractions. Took all the usual faff and queueing stress completely out of the equation! It felt like they genuinely anticipated our needs as tourists. The whole experience was seamless, thanks to their thoughtf

Heh, just got back from our stay and WOW, these folks really know how to make you feel welcomed, eh? ​Right after booking, they reached out ​super politely​ to confirm everything and even ​offered a smooth airport pickup​ (nice black SUV, on time and comfy!), which set a fantastic tone. The level of ​genuine care​ here is something else. We loved how the ​whole staff, especially our dedicated ​butler team, went above and beyond. They weren't just 'fixing things'; they were ​actively helpful and friendly, chatted with us about what we fancied doing (hikes, shows, tours), sorted out ​all our tickets, and booked ​exactly the rides we needed, hassle-free. It felt seamless and personal, not fussy or over-the-top, which we really appreciated. But seriously, the ​pool area? Gorgeous!​​ Huge, sparkling clean, and surrounded by stunning mountain views – honestly felt like a ​hidden gem right here in Zhangjiajie!​​ Perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring. You gotta see it! Breakfast was spot on too – great variety, fresh, and plenty of Timmy's-style coffee fixings (a real plus for us Canucks!). All in all, just a ​top-notch, genuinely friendly, and incredibly ​relaxing stay. ​Couldn't recommend it more highly.​​ Felt like a true ​​"home away from home"​​ with some serious ​pampering when we wanted it.​​ Major kudos to the entire team for getting it so right. ​Will definitely be back!​

Fantastic location, just a short stroll to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park entrance. Very convenient downstairs with plenty of amenities, including much-needed proper cuppa spots! Staff were genuinely welcoming, spoke good English, and went above and beyond - helping us plan our itinerary and book tickets. The in-house buffet breakfast offered good variety with properly brewed fresh coffee. Handy amenities like the gym and laundry room were a bonus. Really worth recommending to fellow travellers.

    Stunning!

    Stunning! our 2nd favorite natural attraction in China, 2nd only to Huangshan Mountain. lots of great trails with exceptional views of a singular landscape. we stayed inside the park at YOLO hotel, which made access very easy. fortunately, transportation inside the park is shuttle bus only, they run frequently, and there's no congestion from private autos like you get at Yosemite. there's a big focus on "Avatar", but that is only one pillar of hundreds. Zhangjiajie is like Arizona's Grand Canyon except in a temperate rain forest, and on a more intimate scale, plus there are no incessant helicopters or mule feces.

    Amazing place.

    Amazing place. My focus was in the nature and zhangjiajie definitely delivered. Everything went super smoothly, but couple didi drivers tried to scam more money by adding extra fees in the app. Luckily didi customer service was good and got it fixed. Besides that small thing everything else was 10/10 for me, i strongly recommend visiting.

    We arrived Monday evening, explored all day Tuesday, then left Wednesday morning. I would have loved more time but felt like we saw a lot in the time we had. Tuesday morning we went to Zhangjiajie National Forest through the east gate. We went straight to the Bailong elevator, hiked around, then took the bus to Yangjiajie and hiked around a little more. We then took multiple bus rides and took the cable car back to the east gate. A driver picked us up and took us to Zhangjiajie city where we bought tickets for Tianmen Shan, B route (one thing to note is that route B and C have you climb the 999 stairs up, route A has you go down the 999 stairs). It was all so beautiful! Wednesday morning we went to the south gate of Zhangjiajie National Forest and did a quick but gorgeous and peaceful hike, hoping to see monkeys, which we did. I loved our trip but would have loved two or three days to explore the area more extensively.

    Zhangjiajie was on my bucket list and I have ticked it off...

    Zhangjiajie was on my bucket list and I have ticked it off now. I was not disappointed with my trip there. The views was amazing and once in a life time for me. There was alot of walking not for the faint hearted.

    The national park is extremely beautiful.

    The national park is extremely beautiful. However, prepare for a large crowd. I came in early spring so it wasn't a high season yet, but I was already quite uncomfortable with the amount of people inside it. Whilst the scenery was fantastic, sometimes the amount of people distract you from nature. The most problematic are the large tour groups, but they always have a route to follow, and there are enough small nooks and crannies for smaller groups to find refuge. So don't bother to queue for photos in a crowded location - find somewhere quiet instead.

    The best place for us to close to ZhangJiajie National Forest Park. The excellent view from the hotel and location for looking across at the mountains. The owner were super friendly and help us everything(tickets for the Park, cable car and Tianmen Mountain for the next day. The breakfast is delicious and food is fresh. The Matthew were happy to help with any and all questions on-line.We love this quite place where can run away from the hustle and bustle of the city and just relaxed here. I would highly recommend this hotel to all.

    Lucas was fantastic at getting us tickets and planning our daily itinerary for visiting the nearby Zhangjiajie national park and TianMen mountain. He was also helpful in providing a vegan breakfast option and including tofu for me on the dinner menu. The food was very tasty. The hotel is very well located for the national park and the surrounding countryside is beautiful. We found our rooms to be clean and the beds comfortable.

    The hotel is very close to Zhangjiajie Forest Park, just an 8-minute walk away. The front desk staff explained the tourist routes in the forest park to us and also arranged for transportation to pick us up and drop us off. Although there was a charge for it, it was really convenient.

    Nice location to explore Zhangjiajie national park (25 min walk to the East gate). The rooms are simple, but there is everything you need for a short stay. Hotel staff was also so nice contacting us in advance, suggesting how to plan our days and booking all tickets.
