Everything was perfect. They had the best service we have ever experienced, the breakfast was delicious, the staff were one of the friendliest people i’ve ever met, the bartender even teached us how to play pool! the place was so nice and clean, the beds were so comfy, and the balcony had the best view of the mountain, we felt really welcomed, they even gave us free welcoming drink and cake and when we checked out they give us free water bottles and chocolate and a ride to the train station.. Honestly worth every penny, BEST HOTEL EVER, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!!! :D

We had a great stay here! The owners were so friendly and we felt so welcomed. The location was great, I enjoy the balcony time each evening with the view of the mountains. And thank you again for providing us with the ride to the station! If we ever visit Grindelwald again for sure we will stay at your hotel again!

I love everything here. The hotel is fairly new. The lobby decoration is very pretty. Though the room is small but very cosy and clean. I enjoyed spending my time at the room balcony. The bathroom amenities are by Thann. Very good toiletries choice.

The hotel is located across the cable train to First, within the city centre of Grindelwald and surrounded by beautiful mountains. What an amazing location! The rooms have good insulation and provide you with all the comfort you need. The spa was amazing, I loved it so much after a day of hiking. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was extensive: all kinds of bread, cheeses, cereal, yoghurt, hot beverages...I enjoyed my stay in this beautiful hotel and I definitely recommend it.

Hotel staffs (Mr. Illiya and Ms. Hijiri) are very kind and fantastic. I never forget their kindness and warm welcoming. The room inside was very nice and couldn't find any incomfortable. Personally, breakfast is the best in Grendelwalt.

Alpine Resort and Large Glaciers

Grindelwald lies at more than 1000 metres above sea level, offering top-class ski slopes and an imposing Alpine landscape. It is located in the canton of Bern, in the Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Aletsch is the largest glacier to be found in the Alps.

Although evidence shows humans have been present in the region for thousands of years, the first long-lasting settlements date back to the Middle Age. For a long period, the destiny of the village was attached to the influence of the Interlaken Abbey, until the times of the Protestant Reformation.

Tourist activity begun in the 18th century, bringing new life and wealth to the village. During the second half of the 19th century, roads and railway lines were developed, allowing a constant influx of visitors.     It looks like heaven...so beautiful, but stay out of the main village for accommodations. Shop at the small local shops on the fringe. Do grocery shop to save on meals, Coop and Aldi are cheap and they the have better priced souvenirs! Be respectful of the local culture and embrace it all!

    Grindelwald is a beautiful town, we found people at restaurants and other site seeing places very helpful & soft spoken. we had visited Grindelwald from 7th - 11th August 2025, morning & evening were pleasant & day time it was sunny. We had hired a car so we drove around near by areas of Grindelwald.

    Great hiking. Not enough quality eating establishments. Would have loved information about the valley’s history that didn’t cost so much. Paying for tap water with a meal was not acceptable. People wew lovely.

    Lovely town with a lot of activities.

    Lovely town with a lot of activities. It can be a bit pricey but you can hike for free to your heart's content. A lot of people are paragliding, it was nice to see and it actually makes you want to try it too. Maybe next time!

    We visited a LOT of places in the Jungfrau region and while we loved Murren and Wengen, we decided that we definitely chose the best base in Grindelwald. It has such good transport links - great options for walks, activities and mountains that you could spend a week here and not need to go further than Terminal to catch a cable car to somewhere spectacular.

    A small cute town located in the mountain area with a great view of the mountains and closer to the cable rides to take to go to the mountain top. All shops coops stores pharmacy closes by 8pm. Not much options for food delivery. A very silent town with no pubs or bars with music.

    We loved our stay at Wolter property. We are a family of 3 so we were staying at their studio apartment which was right behind the hotel. With kitchen, balcony and all necessary amenities it was a very pleasant stay. Coop, migros, grindelwald First station everything was nearby. Breakfast was amazing with beautiful view from the restaurants. Staff was really good and Helpful. Highly recommend staying at Hotel Wolter.

    Excelent location. Grindelwald is a lovely mountain resort, very nice view of the Alps, especially Eiger. The Hotel is very close to the railway station, yet, we had the room on the opposite site, with the view to Eiger, so there was no noise from the trains. Excelent food - serving breakfast was a delight, we has good Swiss quality food. Very nice personel, as well! The hotel is old, but has a nice architecture.

    We chose this hotel in Grindelwald because of the price, it is an expensive place to stay. It's a bit out of town, a long walk from the station. The staff had already sent us info on the free travel card so we took the bus. The room was clean, and the shared bathrooms were kept clean. Breakfast was plentiful, and the internet was great. It was like staying in an upmarket hostel.
