The location and view from the hotel is amazing. You have a panoramic view of the lake and mountains. Very beautiful. The breakfast was tasty and more special than a standard hotel breakfast. The personnel was very friendly and they tried to accommodate in every way possible. Per friendly is a plus!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We were delighted with everything it had to offer, including the rooms, the stunning views, and the exceptionally friendly staff.     The village of Chexbres is neatly placed within the vineyards overlooking Lake Leman, with Evian in the distance. A few restaurants and coffee shops serve mainly the locals with English not widely spoken. A Co Op supermarket and convenience store also at hand. The train to Vevey is on hand to give access to main line trains toward Geneva and other destinations such as Montreux. In the summer months the local pool is available with children's pool and sand pit plus lanes for adults, also a on site restaurant/coffee shop.

    Chexbres is a quiet rural town in the vineyards with stupendous views of the lake and mountains. It has several restaurants and we especially enjoyed good food and service at the Lion D'Or. The bakery is delightful for a coffee and a cake or Swiss chocolate. A short walk took us to the Spa at the Hotel Baron Tavernier- an excellent relaxing start to our holiday. Prealpina is a 12 minute walk from the station but beware, it is mostly uphill! The town in built on the slopes of the lake so expect some good exercise! There are taxis available and public transport is Free with a travel card from the hotel. Trains and buses are included and the system which is very well served with frequent travel along the lake edge.

    The single room. It is nice to travel alone and not have to pay extra for a large bed when it is not needed. I loved the swimming pool, sauna and hammam. I like the idea of limited hours for kids in the pool (I'm a mom, but even I can appreciate adults-only hours in the pool ;-) It is also nice that you can walk to the village in 5 minutes and find a few restaurants.

    It was a beautiful stay at Baron Tavernier. The views on Christmas morning were breathtaking. Walking around the grounds and the church bells ringing out locally just fabulous. Looking across at the Alps.
