Lisa was so helpful taking us to buy food when we arrived and arranging for Michael to be our lagoon and birding guide and eventually transferring us to the airport at the end of our stay. It could not have been a better experience!

Crooked Tree is very small with rather rutted dirt roads but that is part of its charm. We loved eating at Carries Cafe which is only open Wed. -Sun and consists of a kitchen located in a garage with one table. The food was great. It is lovely to walk around and see all of the birds and farm life. We really enjoyed it here.

Birdwatching is nice at the lagoon but overall, we were a bit disappointed. Crooked Tree is supposed to be one of the hotspots for bird watchers, we saw a greater variety of birds in all the other places we stayed in Belize. We found Crooked Tree a bit depressing. There are no shops, no restaurants, only dirt roads and other than the lagoon, nothing to see or do. It's not a beautiful place. It's not worth staying more than two days.
