An excellent expanse of good quality sand with plentiful...
An excellent expanse of good quality sand with plentiful bars and restaurants (although many weren't open in late April- despite very good weather). The town also is accessible via the motorway from Le Shuttle and ferries (circa 1 1/4 hours) providing a great base to visit Bruges, Ghent, Ostend and other parts of the area. The town is mainly one road running parallel to the coast with retail sheds including Lidl, Aldi and Jumbo supermarkets at the north end with a caravan park opposite (both statics and caravans/motorhomes). There is quite a lot of new development spreading inland from the town which means that some areas are impacted by construction noise and traffic.Guest review byBryanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We have always loved Middlekerke, a very friendly place with lots of activities for all ages. There is a lot of building going on, which did not affect, but enhanced the stay as it is very interesting to watch. It is so easy to travel up and down the coast using the Kustram. We parked the car on arrival and did not use it again until we came home. Bonus to have free parking outside the appartment, and in plenty of places in Middelkerke. So close to the outstanding Dunes which are now protected and the Atlantic Wall Museum which has grown so big over the last few years and now has a WW1 area, you need a full day if you are visiting and also snacks and drinks as there is no cafe.Guest review byJeanUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Really nice stay. Good restaurant. Nice welcome. We had two chihuahuas with us. Stairs are real steep so careful if you go there with a bigger dog, you may need to carry them all the way upstairs :-). I recommend anyway cause it was a good stay on the whole.Guest review bypascale - 10.0

Middelkerke located between Niewport and Ostende is a small town on this stunning coastline that offers beautiful sandy beaches, shops and plenty of eateries as well as entertainment. The GoKart center is perfect for families as it has outdoor climbing, Go Kart, small animal farm and indoors, cafe, bowling, game machines and 3D workshops. The apartment is very small but neat with modern decoration and everything you need, and located very close to the beach.
