Geel has a rich and varied history.
Geel has a rich and varied history. There was fierce World War Two fighting here a prelude to the massive Airborne operation, the subject of the film "A Bridge too Far". On the other hand the town pioneered the care of the mentally ill in the community as opposed to institutions about 150 years ago. The hotel appears at first to be quite new/modern, at least in the reception area, but the room and hotel area and rooms feature slightly dated design. Room size is adequate and offers a lot of storage space; bathroom size is equally good. The hotel is located on the edge of the city center in a very quite neighborhood.
