The location was perfect. Amazing scenery, peaceful and quiet. The house had everything we needed for a short stay. We saw our first southern lights just outside the house.

Love the view from this lovely place . We had many animals ( some goats, sheep ) and wallabies and even a possum that was curious about us . The heater worked really well for the winter weather and the beds were comfortable. Only wish there were more pillows . We only stayed one night but next time would definitely stay longer because if we return to Tasmania

Fabulous property, very well thought out with attention to detail. Lots of sundries available including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, cooking essentials (salt, pepper, oil) and a good variety of teas and coffee. Rooms are all a generous size, great views from the outdoor deck and a sun trap in the evening.

The property was fantastic. Perfect for what we needed while down in Hobart. It was very clean, the beds were very comfortable and the entire apartment was lovely. The added bonus of breakfast cereals, toast, fruits and yoghurt was a lovely touch and would recommend this property. We will stay here again.

Amazing final night in Tasmania. Outstanding views with friendly host and adorable wallabies. The driveway was fine. A little bumpy but not as bad as previously reviews. Perhaps more work had been done. A credit to the owners who have done an incredible amount of work to make these houses possible to visitors. Highly recommend Mount Rumney Escapes as a Tasmanian stay. From four travelers that love a touch of adventure.

    Sandford is a locality and not a town .

    Sandford is a locality and not a town . The nearest village is Lauderdale . The area down the peninsular to Opossum Bay is lovely with wide bays, national parks and reserves, some rugged beaches and less rugged beaches at Opossum bay . . It is an easy drive from airport because you can avoid Hobart itself. Roads are good bitumen country roads .

    Hazel is a fantastic host and provided all sorts of extra items like bread to toast for breakfast plus butter and jam. This is a ideal place to relax and recover from extensive travels as it is very private and quiet while being close to Hobart Airport and around thirty minutes from the center of Hobart. Yes you will need to have a rental car but what better way to travel around Tasmania.
