Beautifully renovated- stylish and new, but in keeping with the hotel’s history. Staff were exceptional and very helpful. Food was wonderful and again, staff were excellent. An amazing experience.

The owner had given a massive amount of thought to our comfort. She greeted us with afternoon tea and provided a huge breakfast, including delicious fresh fruit. She bent over backwards to meet my dietary needs - gluten free. The bungalow was a lot more spacious than we were expecting. We were sent on our way with more food.

This was the best presented property I have ever stayed in. From the complimentary bottle of wine and snacks, video games in the front room, table tennis or snooker in the garage, large lounge room to spread out in to relax and watch Netflix, TV’s everywhere, large outdoor deck, barbecue and of course a heated Spa.     A lovely beach town , Nice collections of shops , restaurants and Hotel. Lots of wineries in area with good eating places. Good walking trails And of course fishing. This is a great place to unwind and relax.

    Portalington is a small cute coastal fishing location.

    Portalington is a small cute coastal fishing location. Boats, water and a cute business strip gives it character. Restaurants, cafes facing out to the ocean make them special to experience. The area has many drawcards: Gourmet and Produce - the main! Fresh fish supplies/muscles (BYO Eski and ice),great wineries, Distilleries/Whiskey olive grove and rolling hills, vineyards and blue back drop. Wonderful backyard we live in!

    I can recommend the Atrium at the pub for dinner, and the bakery for the best morning coffee and almond croissant! It was easy to get around by car. Because I was meeting friends for an event, I didn't get to sample the local attractions, but the whole experience was so good, I'll definitely be back! :-)

    Great cabins with everything you need made available.

    Great cabins with everything you need made available. The down side was not having a view of the sea but the gardens and facilities would be great if you have children. A great playground area and plenty of space. We were there in the off season so not many other people around but expect it would be busy in the summer.

    Cute little town.

    Cute little town. Such friendly service, particularly at the Grand Hotel where we spent new years eves as out of towners. Closes early and taxI services are limited later in evening. The beach is gorgeous and a nice little walk. Would love to take my dogs here.

    There are numerous wineries and most have good wines but not...

    There are numerous wineries and most have good wines but not all opens early. Most open at 11.00am hence would delay in visiting other wineries for tasting. Sea food is very fresh and manage to get fresh oyster for my morning breakfast (had 2 dozens of it). Unfortunately most store dont open for business mondays to wednesday during winter hence have limited time visiting.

    The location was good for my purposes - just a short drive to the ferry to wave off some friends, and to the hotel for dinner. I also had coffee and a wonderful almond croissant at the bakery the next morning, before driving home. I would definitely come back for a longer stay.

    The bedroom was very nice and we liked the way that the hotel had been refurbished. Great view of the bay from our balcony albeit some people might have struggled ducking through the window to access the balcony.
