I am a small eater. So I told the lady to remove items like bacon etc from the breakfast. But she felt I will go hungry and so put so much of potatoes and eggs. It's really difficult to see such love for the guests. I am really happy about it

The location is really central. The rooms were clean and modern. The staff were very helpful - storing our luggage, bringing our luggage to our room, upgrading us. It was a lovely stay. (Particularly the male manager? At reception). He printed some documents for us and offered us an upgrade. His kindness was much appreciated.

FAQs about hotels in Perth

Serene as the Swan

Sun-drenched and laidback, Perth is simply a joy to be in. However, the West Australian capital does have tourist attractions, such as the Colonial-era mint, important in the country’s gold industry. East is the WACA, a must-see for cricket fans, and the city is also mad for Aussie Rules football.

The city centre has the historic Government House and Supreme Court, both dwarfed by the ultra-modern skyscrapers a few streets behind. The best skyline view is from leafy King’s Park, near the War Memorial overlooking the Swan River below, named after its black swans. Across the river in Perth Zoo are more native animals including koalas, crocodiles and free-hopping kangaroos.

Boats to the zoo leave from the Barrack Street jetty by a sail-shaped bell tower. Other day trips from Perth include Rottnest Island and Fremantle, down the river in the opposite direction from Perth Airport.

The apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Perth are spread all over this fantastic city, interspersed with restaurants serving specialities such as western rock lobster and chilli mussels. There is also a wealth of bars, many playing the indie music that the city is known for. Local brews from the Swan Brewery and wines from the Swan Valley vineyards round off the evening.

Perth is a small, well-organized city replete with friendly folk and plenty of fascinating diversions including Freemantle and the zoo! The city's welcoming inhabitants and tolerant multi-culturalism make it a welcome contrast to overwhelming mega-cities with cranky populations!

I live in Perth, even though it’s a lovely clean city compared to Sydney & Melbourne the centre of our city is very boring with no attractions to invite people to the hub. Perth has lovely beaches, gardens and wonderful attractions in country towns but you need to be prepared to travel by bus or hire a car to see what we have to offer.

Many interesting places to experience and the downtown is a nice area to walk around / window shopping. Free bus available in the city area as parking is quite difficult to find sometimes and can be costly. River cruise is another activity (quite cheap with TransPerth) and you can also opt to take whales / dolphins watching trip (better to reserve your seats beforehand)

I had a short stay as was taking the Indian Pacific to Sydney after two overnights but did a tour of the Mint on Friday and it was most interesting and I did not know of it until receiving the information from Booking.com....as I was able to see my son and family during my short stay I was not a tourist so unable to recommend except a lady on the IP told me how great is the bus where you hop on or off so that may be of interest to visitors.

    The city is clean!

The city is clean! There are plenty of trees and gardens which are all very well cared for. The roads are quite glorious with multiple lane highways, overhead bypasses, roundabouts - and it all works - there is very little congestion. The people are friendly and happy to assist - one young man virtually walked us to our apartment when we got lost one night! There are lots of interesting places to visit. I particularly recommend Rottnest which is glorious and the Margaret River area which is an opportunity to sample local produce.

The best thing about the Pagoda is the price; a spacious 2 bedroom apartment is much more affordable than a comparably sized hotel room in the city. We had a car so still easy to get to and explore Perth CBD/Northbridge which is relatively close. The staff in the hotel restaurant at breakfast-time were gracious and patient. The suburb where the hotel is located is pleasant for exploring (IMO). The free street parking for your car is great.

Great location to central Perth, cafes and public transport. Hotel offers a great entertainment library for the days we were rained in and tours cancelled. The carpark is only for the brave!! We used the laundry facilities on site which we clean and plentiful. I stayed at two different parts of my holiday to Perth. The rooms both times were of a generous size and in room amenities were sufficient for my stay.

The best breakfast I’ve had in a Perth hotel - the variety and quality was perfect. The room had everything I needed plus more - the bed was comfortable, very clean and spacious, and ordering room service was a breeze with the app. The staff were very welcoming and attentive - they smiled and acknowledge me each time I passed them. Definitely 5 star treatment! Looking forward to my next Duxton stay.
