Mapleton is a small country town on the top of a ridgeline with that side having views over Mount Coolum and Marcoola to the ocean in the distance. There are numerous hikes/walks in the area including access to the Sunshine Coast Great Walk. If you visit I would highly recommend having a lunch at the Mapleton Hotel, it was an absolute surprise, the food and service was sensational. Mapleton is one of a string of small villages along the Blackall Range ridge with access to lots of rainforest walks, long and short, lakes, cafes, shops, galleries and restaurants. The Mapleton Tavern had good food and was open on a Monday night when many other venues were closed. The Mapleton Tavern does amazing meals and has beautiful views to sit and have a drink or dinner, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Nice place to just unwind, walk around the wetland park and lots of nature and birds to see. Short drive to some lovely craft shops and cafes. She has such a great attention to detail and the room and surrounds were presented immaculately. We particularly loved the outdoor chairs and lovely complimentary breakfast. The views are stunning and you really feel like you are the only ones around. Just a short drive into the town of Mapleton where there is a nice selection of restaurants.
