Polanda tiny town on the way from Melbourne to Mt Kosciuszko National Park. Very basic accommodation, but 3-4 times cheaper than in Thredbo. free cold water available all the time. Breakfast included (you have to make it yourself from what is available)

As a solo traveller I really enjoyed the warm but non...
As a solo traveller I really enjoyed the warm but non intrusive company of Irvine and Marie. So welcoming after hours of driving alone. I really enjoyed getting off the Hume Hwy and driving through rural countryside.... farms , creeks with increasingly green hills. It theoretically added 20 mins to my trip, but was so picturesque it wasn't tiring but refreshing. I brought dinner with me but there is a great pub overlooking the Murray River not far away. I visited the pub and would eat there next time. A variety of guests there so it was great for a solo female traveller.Guest review bysusanAustralia
