We were given a fantastic welcome. The facilities were excellent and the most amazing location overlooking a lake. The hosts went so far as to provide bacon, eggs, bread, butter, biscuits, milk, coffee capsules and yoghurts.

The Mitchell River Tavern is a fantastic place to stay, the Staff are great, Anita was very welcoming and so helpful, the Food is 1st class, it is in a good location, and best of all is that the rooms are clean, comfortable and very well appointed.

The whole feel of the place is great, the fact it's self built is a cool story in itself but the story continues with Tony and Kirsten, who are amazing hosts and genuinely nice people. The grounds are gorgeous with crystal clean waters literally 20m away from the door, private beach, quiet gardens and lots to look at. Wish we'd have stayed longer!

Beautiful location along the water. Very clear manual of how everything in the appartment worked. Shops and ferry to Raymond island within walking distance. Very friendly staff. Bikes and kayaks for hire at a reasonable price.

    Great place to stay and experience the Gippsland Lakes.

    Great place to stay and experience the Gippsland Lakes. Close to Paynesville and Raymond Island. We took the ferry across to the island and explored the Koala Trail and nature reserves where we sighted over 20 Koala's in about 90 minutes of walking. Will be back and do more in the area again.

    I love this place, relaxing and peaceful, right next to the entrance of Mitchell River Silt Jetties, great place for boating and fishing, close to boat ramp, between Mitchell River and lake, lots of wildlife. Bring your own linen. No microwave, oven and cooktop available, full size fridge, no wifi, very relaxing
