Big 4 is about 15 minutes away from the entrance to the beautiful Carnarvon Gorge. We stayed in one of the air conditioned cabins and I was so glad we did as it was super hot during the day (we went in December). After a very hot hike as well, the airconditioning has been a saviour. The room's dated but we had water, fridge, cooking utensils, a double bed and a single one. There are BBQ and cooking areas in the vicinity, creek to watch the platypus and a lookout.

    Was absolutely amazing, can’t believe it took us this long...

    Was absolutely amazing, can’t believe it took us this long to visit. Did over 30kms over 2 days of hiking. Left the Boolimba Bluff for our last day and then soaked our muscles in the Rock Pools. The climb was hard yakka but so worth it. We recovered with a picnic we carried with us on top of the world. The Ward canyon was a great cool place to escape the heat. Enjoyed counting all the creeks we crossed visiting all the sites. Highly recommended a visit. Another item on the bucket list ticked.

    The walks were not difficult. The tracks were well marked.

    The walks were not difficult. The tracks were well marked. The ranger was helpful and answered our questions. The Gorge is spectacular. Parking was beside our cabin. Everyone was friendly. The shared areas were kept clean and there was no noise after 9PM. We loved seeing the kangaroos in front of our cabin and also throughout the park. The trails are well marked. The TV presentation was excellent and we found it very helpful.
