The Motel was very Central. The Staff were beautiful and the bonus of a Chinese Restaurant upstairs, so did not have to travel for a meal. The rooms had great air-conditioning for the weather we had.

Broken Hill is a great place to visit.

Broken Hill is a great place to visit. Lots of history, great pubs & places to eat. Silverton is a must to visit as is The Living Desert & Sculptures & Pro Hart Gallery also. Visit the Info Centre - they will give you plenty of information. A car is necessary for sightseeing unless you are on an organised trip.

I've travelled to Broken Hill about 6-times now...sometimes for work and sometimes for leisure. We love the outback so it's no surprise that we have always enjoyed the journey...an oasis in the outback. Broken Hill has everything that you need in terms of shopping, services and accommodation. You will never be disappointed by the drive....and Adelaide is only 5.5hrs away!

Totally enjoyed Broken Hill, the Royal Flying Doctors museum is a must, very interesting. Silverton was interesting with Mad Max museum, the donkeys wandering around the town. The Palace Hotel was interesting, I wish I stayed there. Go to the museums is a must. Broken Hill has very welcoming feel about it and I plan to return to it again.

BH is a great place to visit.

BH is a great place to visit. The city is small and easy to see walking. It is laid out in a grid pattern the streets are named after mining terms, east-west streets minerals and north-south streets chemicals ending in -ide. Lots of mining history, lots of art and culture, including the Pro Hart gallery. In the main streets, the old sandstone buildings are beautiful. Many of the old mining cottages have been retained and are well lived-in. Good places to eat, some modern restaurants and cafes, and some traditional pub bistros and clubs.

The free walking tours run out of the Information were very good, we did 2 which gave us 2 different views and information. The history and art are well worth visiting for. Menindee lakes were teaming with bird life unfortunatly most of the roads were closed in the National park. Silverton was another fasination day out with a visit to the mine.Travelling by train made this a relaxed and enjoyable break.

Having lost everything in a flood in FNQ, driving back from Adelaide to Cairns with a new car and on a strict budget. There was a train accident, I could not get to Brokenhill, haven spoken with Booking.com they said it was up to the hotel to waver the fee, the accomidation still charged me the full rate for the night stating that I could have driven through Mildura to get to Broken Hill, this was close too 1000 km for the day, unrealistic and unreasonable.
