Spent a lovely week in Airlie Beach.
Spent a lovely week in Airlie Beach. Main attraction was the wonderful weather! Beautiful sunsets each evening, with a good selection of restaurants and bars from which to watch the sun go down. Big range of boat trips - we had a wonderful day out on the Whitehaven Express. Cheap local bus service. Enjoyed the walk from Shute Harbour to Coral Bay and well as a fantastic rainforest walk with Driftwood Tours.Guest review byMartinAustralia - 8.0

Great place if you want to go out to Whitsunday Island. Personally I would recommend going on a schooner (Whitehaven Day Sail) rather than the fast track boats. Much more personal experience. Great time to visit, Great Barrier Reef festival in full swing, lots of amazing restaurants and entertainment even in the winter months. Loved new bar, Mulligans, usual favourite restaurants Mika, The Deck, Club Whitsunday, Gelatiamo Dolce Patisserie & Gelato. Groceries, Chemist etc all within easy walking distance off Main Street. Beautiful views, very hilly so walking a bit of a challenge. We stayed about 2 km out with a baby - so preferred to drive. Main town area itself flat, with good facilities - number of good restaurants and pubs - a couple with great views! General shopping quite good too. Straight away we knew we’d been hoodwinked as soon as we walked in 7H. I’ve stayed in ‘cheap’ hotels before but the cost vs product ratio is disproportional here. I’m the sure the staff are friendly but they’re employed to sell a crapper on a hill with nowhere to go… we were out by 6AM… I refused to step into the shower spa, gave me the creeps… I’d rather drive home stinky…Guest review byJodieAustralia
