The family running the hotel were incredibly friendly, more than accompany and helpful. The beds were insanely comfortable and duvets were so cosy!! The breakfast was also great and all the different egg requests were provided for, and more 👌 The location is also the perfect distance to the main city.

A very old historic building of the 14thC. Neat and spacious common areas, good sized bedrooms; down feather amenities; logo slippers, gowns, and ten out of ten heating; very clean spa. Linen change as you wished and towels daily. Breakfast: it was above and beyond with fresh produce and a full basket of local dishes, Austrian hams and cheeses, scrambled eggs, fluffy viennese croissants, vegan & vegetarian diets, breads, desserts etc and a large assortment of juices, teas & coffees. Lunch and dinner: it was a pleasant experience too. The service of the staff: was excellent with very polite staff available to assist you in any in-house enquiries to suggestions for outdoor experiences. Location: location was value for money! Hotel in a small village, next to a large market center, a 14min drive to Salzburg Old Town and a 45min drive to the closest ski resort. We would definitely return to this gasthouse.

Beautiful Hotel that I can only describe as perfect. The staff is super kind, the rooms luxurious and a perfect mix between traditional and modern. The spa area is huge and offers everything you could wish for. We ate twice at the restaurant and had the best meals in a long time. I would recommend this hotel to anyone!! :)

The hotel is amazing! Such a detailed design. Every corner of it is special. The staff was super friendly, the breakfast was delicious. The spa is beautiful and clean. The room had a balcony with a view to the fields and apple trees. Defenetly will be back!

Super location! Only one minute walk from central square of cathedral. Unlike the expectation for the old hotel in Europe, all equipments are new and functional including sufficient hot water from shower and bath tab even on the top floor. Small roof balcony from spiral staircases is charming for coffee break and breakfast. Finally Ulrike at reception takes care all for visitors kindly and cheerfully, Super!!!

The 180 degree view from the Gasthof Maria Plain hotel terrace, and from the balcony of room #20 which we had, captures sweeping pastoral greenery in the foreground, behind which is the city of Salzburg with the iconic fortress on the berg, back-dropped by the soaring Austrian Alps.     This is the second time we’ve stayed at this hotel & just love it. Staff are so friendly. The rooms are immaculate & so comfortable really had the best sleep. There’s a great choice for breakfast & evening meal is the hearty food you expect for Austria. Very convenient for the city, bus stop directly outside. Would highly recommend & would definitely stay again.

    We traveled by public transport, and the bus stop in front of the hotel (with a direct connection to Salzburg city center every 20 minutes) was convenient. The train station requires a transfer. The room and bathroom were comfortable, with a separate toilet. We had a good meal in the hotel restaurant, which has an Austrian setting.
