Reviews we read of Shkoder said it's a university town with lots of biking. Not sure what those reviewers were writing about, but there weren't many bike friendly areas and the town was not as vibrant as we expected. We did spend some time in the Shiroka area on the lake a 10 minute or so drive from Shkoder and that was very nice - good restaurants and lake activities. Shkoder is a lovely city with great views, food and nice accommodation facilities. It's a safe place for families and youths with lots of activities around. We really enjoyed our time in Shkoder.
We really enjoyed our time in Shkoder. I liked how there was plenty to do and see in town, and also very close to Theth which is a must see. We also booked a tour of the Shalla River and that was beautiful too! The thing that was challenging was riding on the local buses that don’t always have good air conditioning and are full with passengers in the summer months.Guest review byMcMellen

It offers good parking and a large breakfast buffet. The building and especially the courtyard restaurant are lovely and the room was spacious with a good bathroom and small balcony. The bed was large and comfortable and all was clean and comfortable. Dinner was very good and the waiters nice and attentive. There is live music every night but we asked for a quiet room and got one at the back of the house so no problem with that (music stops at 23:00).Guest review byTanjaNorway
