My fiance and I rented a car to drive around Uruguay for 1 week and this was our favourite place that we stayed. It is easy to reach by car and gives the perfect location for exploring the nearby town and local wineries. Aldo and his family gave plenty of recommendations and were extremely helpful in finding any activity we were looking for. The yard is beautiful, plenty of open space backing on to fields (with some cute horses that would occasionally stop by for a visit). Every morning we were brought a delicious breakfast with beverages, pasteries, dulce de leche, fresh fruit, etc. that we were able to peacefully enjoy while looking out into the beautiful fields of Uruguay. We borrowed bicycles and went for a ride on the farm roads around the location. If you have time, I would also 100% recommend going to El Legado winery just close by down the road (it is an adorable small family run business with a great story and wine). The cabin was also exceptionally clean and had great Air conditioning! I would recommend this location to anyone looking to explore Carmelo!
