Our room was spacious, spotless, and well-equipped. The bathroom had great water pressure, a powerful exhaust fan, and instant hot water—everything worked perfectly. The balcony opened to a serene view of the lake, adding to the peaceful ambiance. A small garden near the reception with chairs on request made for an ideal place to relax in the crisp mountain air. What truly made our stay unforgettable was the outstanding hospitality. The owner and staff were incredibly polite, warm, and attentive. They were always just a call away—offering tea and coffee generously, letting us use their kitchen, and always welcoming us with genuine smiles. I have stayed in many hotels across Asia, but it is rare to find such sincere and caring service. Highly recommended for a quiet, comfortable stay with exceptional hospitality.

The staff is very friendly, and thanks to the helpful manager Daya, we visited some big waterfalls and a scenic reservoir with stunning views. We’ll definitely come back next year!

The lodge offers an American or Asian breakfast. The view of Gregory Lake and surrounds was spectacular. The property was a self contained flat above the owners house. It had been tastefully decorated and designed and was extremely clean. The bed was large and comfortable. The bedroom window showed an amazing view which could be seen from the bed. The owner had thought of everything. Tea, coffee, shampoo,, bath wash,. There is also a sitting room with a coffee table I would have taken home if I could. The owner organised a very reasonable tuk tuk to the railway station. There are steepish stairs up to the property but Leslie helped with the luggage.

The house‘s location is a 10/10, less than a 15 min drive from the Adam‘s Peak start and is surrounded by a great landscape, especially in comparison to Dalhousie (where the hike starts), so it‘s really worth the short ride.

Daresh home stay is really wonderful - the rooms are clean, spacious and the balcony of our room overlooked a little stream which meant it was quiet set back from the road. Deva and his family are lovely people - they went above and beyond for us for one of our birthdays and were always checking in if we needed anything else. The food was amazing and they even packed us a delicious breakfast for our early bus the following morning. It’s really accessible by TukTuk to Sri Pada and I couldn’t recommend this place more! The property has quiet street views and is 3.4 km from Gregory Lake and 10 km from Hakgala Botanical Garden. The property features barbecue facilities. The place is really awesome and one of a kind. The weather is chilly as hell but you can have the barbeque lit and warm yourself. The owners are really cool and friendly. We had a great time with them. I honestly recommend this place if you want to have the best of experience in Nuwara Eliya.
