This was one of the best places we have ever stayed: the beautiful wooden traditional houses are arranged like a very small village, with a lush tropical garden and lovely pool at it's centre - at night the garden comes alive with the singing of crickets, geckos and frogs. We stayed in the Family Lodge and it was gorgeous. The breakfast was delicious - pastries, fresh fruit and juices, great Cambodian coffee and Western and Cambodian cooked meals (the rice pin noodles are particularly good). The staff were all so kind and helpful and the owner Lee and his wife friendly and generous hosts: our young son loved getting to play with their children. This hotel is about a seven minute tuk-tuk ride from Pub Street, so central but located in a much calmer area - it does front onto a semi-busy road but we didn't really notice this, especially over the sounds of the wildlife. One detail I really appreciated about Phum Khmer Lodge is the focus on sustainable business practices - in a country awash with single-use plastic, Lee and his wife strive to use sustainable materials and support local artisans: the spa was being built while we were staying, and we watched as the walls were constructed with a traditional method using hay, clay and cow dung - amazing to see these skills being preserved! អរគុណច្រើន, thank you so much for a wonderful stay, the MacGibbon family.

The warm welcome and hospitality from the staff was amazing and I loved the beautiful environment. The room I stayed in was clean and the wooden decorations gave an authentic feel while I still had all the modern amenities I needed . The whole place looks stunning due to the wooden houses, the greenery and artwork.

Looking for a cabin?

For the active travellers, a chalet is a great mix of the outdoors and the snug inside. Usually fully furnished and self-catered, chalets are typically wooden and in the Alpine region of Europe, but can also be found elsewhere in the world. Characterised by their sloped roofs, chalets can be single units or separate apartments, and are ideal for skiing holidays.

This place is absolutely wonderful. We were a family of 2 adults and 4 children and had a perfect stay. The buildings and the rooms are beautifully appointed. The traditional Khmer wooden huts are very special. You definitely feel very close to nature which is remarkable given the inner city location. However, without a doubt, the most remarkable thing about this place is the staff. They are incredibly warm, welcoming and always seem genuinely pleased to see you. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. It was perfect.
