From the first step on the property through the trees, winding down the path to your cabana is so relaxing. We stayed in the Oriental suite with an outdoor kitchen… Awesome.

We had a great stay and even extended! The hosts were so friendly and accommodating, the property was clean, we felt very safe, and the location was perfect for us. Hotel Bahia Esmeralda is 200 metres from the beach in Potrero, in Costa Rica’s Guanacaste region. It features a free Wi-Fi zone and rooms set in bungalow-style buildings around an outdoor pool. Just what we wanted, quiet, residential feel. Villas were perfect for my family: adults in one studio; kids in a 2br w sofa futon. Rooms were exactly as described. If there was a sofa bed, there was a sofa bed. The pool was nice. Luis the manager attentive & fair. The community has a real authentic feel- beach is a 3 block walk down the street. Best food in this town!! love the bakery about 500 m from the property. You’ve got to find it! Actual bagels and jalapeño cheese croissants. Amazing coffee everywhere. Ask housekeepers to do your laundry 🧺 for $15US a medium-lg bag.
