Our host, Elizandna, was so lovely, friendly, welcoming, and very attentive. We asked where we could buy milk for a drink, and she got us a carton straight away. We met Elizandna the next morning to pay and had a lovely breakfast in the cafe/ restaurant where she works. She's such a happy person and a pleasure to be around. The apartment has everything you need if you wish to cook whilst away and was spotlessly clean. There is a washing machine, and this can be found upstairs in the communal area. The apartment is also close to the shops and beach, so nicely situated.

We stayed both in Villa Alegria as in Casa Alegria which both have their own charms. We preferred the casa because of the roof terrace and we liked the rooms a bit more BUT no worries if you book for the Villa, this one is nice as well ;-) The host, Irene, well what can i say...she's like a walking travel agency and has a superb netwerk all over the island. If you need things to be done, she will make it happen. Some ex: - Hiking in the Serra Malagueta (you can choose your own hike): she arranged a very reliable French/English/Portuguse speaking guide who has an incredible knowledge of the island. It seemed like he knew everyone where we came. His name Silvio. If you want to do something here, ask for him. PS: you can hike in the Serra alone, but with a guide you will go to places that you will not see on your own. - Arranging private transport: always reliable, English speaking persons with a normal driving style :-) - Arranging transport to other islands. It's not easy to get things done here. CVInterilhas website is not stable and Irene knows how to get you things done. - Tips for restaurant, food,..all spot on. We enjoyed the food here every day. - Problems of other kind? Irene will try to help you via her network. Her husband grew up here so things can be arranged a lot easier. - Transport to the airport, Irene. Aluguer is of course an option but you don't want to arrive late for you plane or ferry... Breakfast in both locations is in buffet style and is all you need: coffee/tea, 3 styles of cold drinks, milk and cereals, cheese/ham/salami, breads, eggs (boiled and mirror), fruits like banana, papaya, apples,...all you need. Location: quiet area, few 100m away from beach and restaurants. The best of both worlds ;-) Rooms: we stayed in 3 different rooms. One advise, take a room with airco. All rooms were spacy, clean and a lot of options. Fridge filled with free alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Last week I stayed together with my father in various rooms at Casa Strela. We’re looking back on our stay with a big smile on our faces and made the best decision staying here on our visit of Tarrafal. The atmosphere in the B&B (and also in Tarrafal itself) is relaxed and our stay was very comfortable. The rooms are really nicely decorated and tidy and clean. Also the public places had a great atmosphere and were nice to hang out/spend time to relax. Also, the restaurant with it’s unique view and atmosphere, made our stay so pleasant. The breakfast and dinner meals are delicious and all served with great care. Finally, most important of all: the staff who made us feel at home. Specially Adla made our stay really pleasant. She was always very welcoming, helpful and kind. We loved talking to her. She helped arranging various excursions and trips and also told us more about the area and the culture. Adla really made our stay unforgettable. We very much recommend staying here and hope the people and the area will always stay this way. We can’t wait to go back!

I loved the surroundings and facilities! Especially if you come from the beach, you can shower outside before entering the whole apartment. It's a cozy place for the whole family. It has a nice terrace where you can relax and see the amazing view.
