We had the most amazing stay at Mountain Oasis in Valbonë, Albania! This place is an absolute gem tucked away in the stunning northern region. From the moment we arrived, we was greeted by the warmest hosts and felt right at home. The cleanliness of the place was impeccable (this said by a “Monica clean” kind of person - if you’ve seen “Friends”, you’ll know it 😅). The surroundings were a nature lover's dream come true! With tall trees and a serene river nearby, the peaceful atmosphere was incredibly refreshing. Breathing in the fresh air while taking in the beauty of the landscape was such a calming experience. As the name suggests, it was a real Oasis - a true haven of tranquility and beauty. Moreover, the hosts kindly offered us directions and recommendations for nearby places to visit and dine, which made exploring the area even more enjoyable. The breakfast was a true delight with a variety of homemade bio products that added a special touch to our morning. We cannot emphasize enough how much we loved every moment of our stay at Mountain Oasis. It's a place where you can truly escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in nature's wonders. If you're looking for a perfect getaway with excellent hospitality, we highly recommend this hidden gem in northern Albania. It truly deserves all the five stars!

We had completed the Theth to Valbone hike and this was our one night stay at the end. We had a private, clean, comfortable room with a clean bathroom just outside of our door. Our host was so welcoming, friendly and accommodating. As we hadn't collected any provisions on our way to the guesthouse, we asked if dinner was possible, which it was (for a very reasonable price). Our host also kindly offered us a coffee, which was brought to our room. Dinner and breakfast was freshly made, home cooked food that we ate downstairs in their home. It was all delicious and generous. Our host even wrapped up our spare doughnuts to go for our return journey to Shkodër. This was our most local stay and felt more like a homestay, which was a really rewarding experience that we both really valued.

One of my favorite places to stay in Albania so far. Super friendly, helpful and welcoming host. Welcomed with a nice complimentary coffee at our arrival in Valbona. All the meals were wonderful too, cooked with all the ingredients grown locally in their own farm. The host helped us arrange a taxi and even packed breakfast for us as we had to leave early for our trek towards Theth. Definitely stay at this place if you are in Valbona area next time.

This guesthouse was great! The bed was very comfortable with an extra blanket for those cold nights in the mountains. Like all of the other bathrooms we saw in Albanian guesthouses, it's on the smaller side and has no demarcation between the shower and rest of the bathroom. The included breakfast was delicious and served in their covered, outdoor eating area. There aren't any restaurants nearby, so you'll probably eat dinner here as well. That's not a problem because the à la carte dinner is fantastic. Prices were very reasonable, especially considering their competition is kilometers away. We ordered 3 veg dishes and one portion of meat and paid 9 Euro total. All of the food at breakfast and dinner is either homegrown or homemade, even the wine and vinegar! The location is outside of the town, but much closer to the beginning of the trail to Theth. It can be a little difficult to find, but their driveway is just off the main wash and there are spray painted wooden and stone markers along the way. If you get lost, locals will point you in the right direction. The family that owns the guesthouse is very friendly and hospitable. They'll even build a fire if guests want to relax outside at night.

The host was so nice and welcoming. All very clean and confortable in the house. We had a delicios traditional dinner (home made bread, cheese pie, soup, salad, goat cheese) with mountain view. Breakfast was basic but very good. Faleminderit shumë për gjithçka!

We loved the wooden cabin style of this guest house. It is at the end of Valbona near the start of the Valbona - Theth trail and has the most incredible open views of the mountains, plus a cute balcony to enjoy it from. The owner was so sweet and kind and was always there whenever we needed him.

    The area is beautiful, nestled in the valley. The hosts are extremely welcoming and helpful, speak excellent English. Breakfast (included) and dinner (not) were very good. The rooms are basic, but very clean. We didn't need more for our stay there. The good private shower was outside the room. The location is close to the Theth trailhead (the host gave us a ride there in the morning), but a little far from the village "centre" (if you can call it that, the village is basically just a long road).

    Great and serene location surrounded by mountains. Very committed and forthcoming host. He woke up very early to prepare a fresh and huge sandwich as a lunch package, which really helped to start our hike to Theth. And that although there was a power outage of the whole village. Good Coffee :)

    Loved everything about this place. The family that runs is is amazing, the food was the best we have had in Albania and the Villas were beautiful. Stayed 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. Perfect place to relax and rechsrge after the Theth - Valbona hike. 10/10 would recommend!
