Our first stop in Sumatra was at Lilly's Guesthouse, where we were very warmly welcomed by her and her husband Ishako. From the first moment we felt welcome and completely at home. We booked a two-day jungle trek. Our adventure began on the second day after our arrival, together with our guide Iman and a French couple, Carolane and Romain. There was immediately a nice click, and so we trekked into the jungle together. Blood, sweat, but no tears - what an experience! Without Iman, the trek would definitely not have been the same. What a top guy! After two days of trekking and a night's sleep in the middle of the jungle, we arrived safely back at the guesthouse. How happy we were to finally shower again and sleep in a comfortable bed! As icing on the cake, we also enjoyed a wonderful massage - how good that felt! After that we wanted to travel on to Lake Toba, and coincidentally that was also Lilly's plan with her family. Transportation was completely arranged by them, and together we traveled to our next destination. Along the way, we had lunch together, took the same ferry and once again shared beautiful, enjoyable moments. In Tuktuk our paths parted, as we had each booked our own guesthouse, but we met up a few more times. Each time it was a warm reunion! What we really want to say: we felt like one of them. Mila Homestay offre una terrazza a Padang, a 10 km da Siti Nurbaya Bridge e 47 km da Mount Talang. I cannot recommend this stay enough. Dila, the host, was exceptional and so kind hearted that it taught me so much during my short 3 days there. It is a nice quiet location, and you can tell that Dila has put her all into making sure the guests have an amazing time. She is always there to answer questions and do everything she can to make you comfortable. She cooks a delicious breakfast with her sister, and likes to take her guests around Padang and show them beautiful things like the clear blue river deep in the village. Stuff you would never find on your own. She even noticed I liked crystals and rocks and showed me a crystal shop I would not have been aware of. I will always cherish my stay here.

Alek and Nabil are really great hosts who are Bukit Lawang's second best feature after the orangutans! The balcony has a lovely view out over the river and the location is perfect in amongst the locals.

The snorkeling in front of the bungalows is good. Borja and YunYun are very accomodating. Services like scooter rental and laundry are offered. There is also a dog (give him some nice scratches to become friends). The bungalows were also very nice.

The 2 guides Rian and Santa were the best guides I’ve encountered anywhere in all my years of traveling. They were so kind, funny and thoughtful. The food on the trek was phenomenal and it really was a wonderful experience. The property is great, with a beautiful lush green garden.

We stayed here before and after our jungle hike and if was lovely! They had great breakfast and a delicious family style dinner in the communal area which we loved.

La guesthouse è in una posizione stupenda, a due passi dal parco Gunung Leuser, vicino ad un fiume e alla giungla. Le camere sono ampie con letti comodi. Bagni spartani ma ok. Balconi meravigliosi, ampi, e ottimi per osservare la giungla e ascoltarne i suoni. Abbiamo anche visto un orangutan dietro casa nostra! Splendido giardino ben curato, abbiamo anche potuto giocare a pallavolo e badminton. Il ristorante è moooolto carino e si mangia bene. La crew è meravigliosa, sono tutti ragazzi giovani, simpatici e gentilissimi. Davvero un valore aggiunto. Ci è dispiaciuto rimanere solo una notte. La consigliamo a occhi chiusi
